Whos got an ele druid? |
|
LLD ele druids. Are they any good. I looked at a skill planner and it appears that it could do decent damage with decent eq. It looks good on paper, but how do they do in duels?

well i dont have one, so i am just going by the ones i have dueled. im pretty sure lots of r/w is needed. Hurricane doesnt work unless the person is close (obviosly) and no one is just going to stand there and let you hit them.
tornado? is sometimes hard to hit, since it zig zags. But when a few connect they work fairly well.
Hope that helps a little, but you should probably get advice from someone who has one.

I have a lvl 30 one. Basically, he owns melee and any character that has to get close to him to attack.
But against ranged chars, it's basically a battle of who has more FRW and who can predict the other person's moves quicker. Overall, they fare pretty well, but a good caster should take care of them most of the time.

I wouldn't use sigons, use a rhyme so you have CBF. As for the helm use Peasant until you can find a 2 socket, 3 hurricane, 3 tornado or something like that and make lore (ort+sol). Make sure your hitting the bp on cast rate and thats about it. For a belt craft one (light belt+p amythest+ith rune).

youd pump your hurricane and tornado, and then cyclone armor for the synergy. cyclone armor and twister both add 9% to tornado as a synergy, and cyclone armor gives you more armor, so i suggest going with points into that than twister. and hurricane isnt really used to hurt people, but more to freeze them and slow them down.
i think my skill layout for an ele druid would look something like this
1 artic blast
10 cyclone armor
1 twister
7 tornado
1 hurricane
1 raven
1 spirit wolf
1 dire wolf
1 grizzly
10 oak sage
choice gear would be a 2 element/fcr amulet. sojs, +3tornado and then (+oak sage or +grizzly or +hurricane, or whatever you want) druid helm, vipermagi.
after that, with this skill layout you should be looking at.
130-184 hurricane dmg
533-584 tornado dmg
528 dmg absorb from cyclone armor
+90% life from oak sage
and a grizzly with 825-1125 life +oak sage life boost and 93-139 dmg.
the FCR BP's for a druid are 68 and 99. youd can hit 95 no problem (+50% from shard, +25% from magefist, +30% from viper magi. and possibly another 10-20% if you get an amulet with it) the next BP is 163, and the only way to reach that is if you get a helm with 20%, viper 30%, 2 10% rings, 20% amulet, 25% magefist and 50% shard, for a total of 165%.

Get points into grizzly seems odd. Grizzlys IMO just give the oppenent sumthing to leech off of. Why not go for cyclone or twister for the more tornado dmg?

grizzly gives you another target to toss at your opponent. it has high life, decent damage, and knock back. if you have a necro throwing bone spirits at you, the grizzly will take some of those off your back. or an amazons GA. or other casters projectiles. but like anything, its your choice, i was just stating how i, personally, would build my element druid.
