At the start of .10 I decided to give up melee LLD and made a necro and traded all my melee gear. Necro's are fun but I can't seem to get the burning desire to fight toe to toe out of my system. So being a huge sucker for paladins i'm gonna try and make a lvl 9 sac pally. As of right now I have no gear, no experiance with lvl 9's (since back in the day when everyone had a lvl 9 warchicken sin) and really no idea what i'm doing. I was wondering if anyone had suggestions, build ideas, or actual build breakdowns they know from experiance that work? I'm sure someone has a good idea of what I need to do as far as gear goes. as for the build should i pump sac or might? sac would give ar but wouldn't i hurt myself more if it got too high a lvl? also, what about defiance? is this viable as an aura. and finaly how needed is a hell rush for this build? Is hell rushing even possible for lvl 9's in .10? Also, if anyone has gear that might work i'll be more then happy to take handouts or trade, see my thread in the USEAST trade forum if you can help me out.

make your character on classic, all the way to hell (get rushed obviously) then convert to expansion. then do the act 5 quests. thats how im making my level 9s from now on. but before now, it was still possible to hell rush in .10. just leech the baal quest from someone who needs it. wait in town while the quester kills baal.

you need a hell rush for this char for it to be any good. if you don't know how to get this done, just say so and i'll go into more detail.

skills:
lvl 9 sac
lvl 9 might
lvl 2 smite

equip:
6 socket military pick/war axe
4 socket gothic plate
3 socket mask
4 socket ed/ar rondache
bloodfists
death's sash
hotspur or hsaru's boots

you'll need two -req jewels in your armor unless you want to get jewelry with dex/str. if you opt for the war axe, you'll need another two -req jewels w/o jewelry with stats. other than that, it's pretty standard - max/ed your weapon and max/ar everything else.

good advice about classic rush I wouldn't have figured that out. as for the gear suggested would bloodfists be better then using deaths gloves for ias? and also do I have to take into consideration the sac damage hurting myself cause leech has been nerfed alot? can leech overcome this still? and what about pelta lunata for fbr?

also I looked at the wpns I could use and narrowed it down to 4 possible options and took into account their respected speed with the 30% ias from deaths.

robo military pick: 11 frames a frame faster and less dmg
robo war axe: 12 frames highest possible max dmg but slowest speed
blood cresent: 9 frames fastests possible speed but low dmg
clegaws tooth: 11 frame as fast as robo military but 50% deadly instead of higher max

wich of these would be suggested? would deadly strike work to counter act the higher max of robo

before i junked my pally for my asn, i did over 1.1k max dmg. the sac return wasn't much to worry about even though i did kill myself from time to time when i had around 20 life left.
you'd want to take a 4 socket ed/ar rondache over pelta just because you can squeeze three more jewels out of it in addition to the auto-moded AR.
go with the robo military pick/war axe. you'll get some more dmg with the war axe but you'll need a couple -req jewels and it will be a frame slower. one frame isn't much of a difference but the -req jewels are a bitch to find if you're going for other good mods. in pubby duels, with the right set-up, you'll be taking out lvl 20s in one hit. lvl 30s+ require a few more unless they know what they're doing. if they know what they're doing, duel someone else. =P

id try blood cresent if you find you;re killing yourself alot. the 15% ll actually works slightly.

heres a cheap pally build
27 max dmg mask
27 max dmg breast plate
36 max dmg ed/ar shield
9max'd blood cresent which will usually be 7-19 dmg w/ jewel in it
ar/stat/life/mana rings
ar/stat/life/mana ammy.
deaths belt
deaths gloves
some nice rare boots.

all of the gear would be low req gear so you can pump more into life which is what you'll need, you'll hit very fast wit blood cresent and have open wounds, which also gives 15life/res/ias.

that is actually the same build im making for my lvl 12 charger on hcl.

Yeah I had a question about hell rushing. Basicaly I made the char, got the gear. But somehow need to devise a way to get him through hell on classic.......where I have no characters. How do you normaly do this? hire people out? also do any stupid rules apply like you can't go past X act without being XX lvl and all that new stuff that makes rushing complicated in .10 LOD like act 2 for example has been made extremely annoying........does this still work in classic? is it more like rushing in .9?
Am i going to have to get a char to lvl 70 in classic to rush my lvl 9?

I got him all made cept for NM den and hell potion quests. So far he is ok, but I feel he could be alot better if I had nicer gear but w/e, I just started lvl 9 dueling. Right now he is doing 87-812 one handed with 807 ar (really low i know) and 347 life.

IMO Your AR is way way too low, what exactly is your gear setup?

And also, on your switch use a gnasher/vulpine spiked shield of deflecting, that's what the 2 smite is for O_o
