I decided that I was going to make my first HLD (high level dueler) and that it'll be a Auradin. I need some help confirming my equipments and my
skill points.

Skills: (think this'll be level 78 )
Defensive Aura:
Resist Lightning - 20 Points
Salvation - 20 Points

Offensive Aura:

Might - 1 Point
Holy Fire - 1 Point
Thorns - 1 Point
Holy Freeze - 1 Point
Sanctuary - 1 Point
Conviction - 20 Points

Combat Skills:

Smite - 1 Point
Holy Bolt - 1 Point
Charge - 1 Point
Holy Hammer - 1 Point
Holy Shield - 20 Points

Equipments:
Helmet: Dream Corona (like the way it looks)
Armor: Enigma Breast Place (can only think of this, and I have this on my mule)
Weapon: Ethereal 6 socketed Phase Blade with Rainbow Facet jewels
Shield: Dream Kurast Shield or Zakarum Shield
Boots: Gore Rider or War Traveler
Belt: Arachnid Mesh (can only think of this, but I'll replace this for something less expensive)
Gloves: Upped Bloodfist
Amulet: Mara's Kaleidoscope
Rings: Raven Frosts (Stone of Jordan is expensive for me, and I don't think extra x2 +1 skills will be that useful)

I need help deciding what my final skill layout will look since I can't decide choosing between Smite and Charge. I also need help choosing my future gears since I don't know if I should use Enigma or a 4 socketed armor with Rainbow Facets.

What about fire? You could use a Dragon armor with Hand of Justice scepter to stack holy fire, and max out resist fire. so skills would be more like

20 Res Fire
20 Res Lite
20 Salvation
1 Sacrifice
1 Zeal (+4 from torch/anni)
20 Holy Shield
20 Convic
prereqs

IMO you should use Mara's or Metalgrid over a +3off ammy because youll want either more ar or higher holy shield. also, i dont see any attack rating anywhere, id go with double ravens. gloves should also have more ias, so laying of hands or magnus' skin would be a better choice. You want to have 5 frame zeal for this. 33 on Hand of Justice + 20 from Laying/Magnus = 53 on a -10 scepter for 5 frame.

I chose only to max synergies for Holy Shock because since I think I'll stop leveling this character around level 85, and maxing Holy Fire's synergy will be at level 93ish. Also, I don't really care about Attack Rating right now because I'm thinking of letting the damage from Holy Shock do more of the damage, so I think I'll go for putting leftover points into Smite. I've already calculated the damage that Holy Shock will do.

Skill Level: 30

dont you need attack rating for holy shock, or are you just planning to run around and let it pulse them..?

Pulse them Twisted Evil, but not all the way since that might take longer to kill duelers than when you kill duelers in regular duels. That's why I was thinking of whether to Charge or Smite them at the very end.

but they can stack res, you wont have nearly enough dmg with pulse alone...you need a main attack

How much stacked resists do HLD's have? If it's lower than 125, I think Conviction will lower them enough for Holy Shock to inflict damage. I've seen a video of a Auradin beating multiple duelers by just staying near them and dodging every attack by charging away (can't seem to find it anymore), but I think I'll use Charge like the Auradin in this video (he was also using Smite and Zeal). http://youtube.com/watch?v=DJ1j1U6Htx4

Dude if youre just pulsing then why not go for all 3 auras? Doom zerker, Dream/Dream, Dragon AP and max all synergies and conviction. Just charge around while doing all 3 ele dmges.

I think I'll go for Charge instead Neutral. What's best 1 handed weapon for charging with? Since, I don't think charging with a 6 socketed Phase Blade with Rainbow Facets won't do any damage.

Can't get eth pbs.... I would use grief pb to charge with and use coh for res or a faceted armor for more dmg. Arach for casters and dungo for phys. Rest is really up to you.

How about combining physical and light dmg? Either Charge or Zeal would work, but I'd say Charge is a lot better for higher AR.

Helm - Dream Bone Visage
??? Armor - CoH or Fort ???
Gloves - Dracul's
Belt - Tgod's
Boots - Gore Rider
Amulet - Metalgrid
Rings - Raven Frost
Weapon - Grief Zerker
Shield - Dream Sacred Targe (highest block %)

max convic, res light, salv, charge, and holy shield, prereqs, and a point in defiance for holy shield synergy.

Why would you think to max holy shield? It only gives you extra def (which wouldn't matter at all since you def would be low anyways + 90% of chars don't need ar) and a little blocking % after skills from gear.

Hoj+ 2x Dragons = lvl 44 holy fire = 33 yards
2x Dreams = lvl 30 holy shock = 23 yards.
Both auras would have the same avg damage but as you can see, the Dragon combo has far better range.

By not maxing holy shield you can max the things needed for holy fire. Also, this gives you the option of using any helm such as CoA, Andy's, etc.

I'm not sure how you feel about using game glitches, but any character using items granting damage dealing auras can use a glitch to effectively get multiple copies of the auras acting at the same time. If a trade fails, (other player's inventory is full, etc) the game re-applies all items, and the player gets a copy of any auras granted by items. You can repeat as many times as you like, but more auras mean more lag. Its not exactly cheating, but its not really fair to use either.

Hopefully it is patched fairly soon.

my friend uses that exploit for mf-ing haha. stacks up the auras then teleports around, clearing everything
