Bloody Mess

Heh, I've just been thinking about this for a couple of days now and wanted to ask you guys on your thoughts on this.

If NASA really landed on the Moon in 1969, nearly half a century ago, almost, why hasn't any further trips to Moon been attempted. Surely NASA has improved technology over the years....like 39 years ago. I mean, come on, its been 39 years and nothing else has been done to explore the Moon on site, in person. NASA did it in 1969, why not now? I'm clueless on what your thoughts are, so fire away.

there's a lot of "evidence" suggesting that the moon landing was a hoax, and sometimes its hard to think otherwise. i like to say the moon landing was a hoax, just because its more fun that way

Maybe its would be too unnecessary, expensive and dangerous to do it again. I dont think they really did anything productive when they went there the first time [if they did] except walk around a bit.

As for it being a hoax. Occam's razor. It's much easier to go to the moon than to fake all the evidence and keep the hundreds of people involved quiet.

They landed on the moon several more times between 1969 and 1972.

There's been a lot of "evidence" suggesting that it was a fake, but I'll offer one suggestion that may counter that:

No one has talked.

Think about that. Think about how many people would have to be involved in this lie. All the engineers who "built" the ships. All the mission control people who "oversaw" the missions. The astronauts. Not just for one Apollo mission, but for all the moon missions. And ALL of them have been able to "keep the secret"? No death bed confession? No leaked documents? There were maybe six people involved in Watergate, and we found that out. Maybe less than that in Iran-Contra, and we found that out.

In my opinion, while it's nice to play the conspiracy theorist, there were simply too many people involved in the moon landings to shut them ALL up.

plus you can see the stuff they left on the moon with an observatory class telescope (maybe even a less powerful one. The flag, the bases for the landers, moonbuggy they just left there, maybe even the footprints... can't remember if it had enough resolution for that though.

We did have one or two decent class trips when I was younger atleast ^_^

Do people really think they flew spacecraft to the moon on autopilot and had them setup "props" so we "will still be fooled by the haox years later"?

The whole hoax thing might be interesting but the physical evidence on the moon + the excelent point dao brought up makes it .0000000000001% chance of being a hoax. Sounds alot more like something soviet media (government controlled of course) told citizens during towards the end of the cold war.
