 A few questions about War Scepters |

1. What is the statistically best place to hunt for war scepters that will get 5 sockets?
2. Will any item from nm cows get max sockets? What is the cutoff? I've heard that most ppl get max sockets from nm cows, but I know I didn't get max sockets from an item I got from nm baal, so I assume items will get max sockets from nm cows on up?
I was reading on diabloii.net that ilvl 25 and up war scepters will get 5 sockets. Is there a table somewhere that tells what monsters will drop what ilvls?
3. Where do YOU find the most war scepters from experience? If you can't answer any other questions, answer this one for me as best you can.
I'm thinking of running nm cows to try and find a war scepter for my 18 pally, but nm is so inconvenient because I would have to switch accts to see games. Would running hell cows significantly lower my chances of finding a war scepter as compared to running nm cows?

I cant answer the first questions, as a rule i thought it was anywhere in mare onwards got max sockets, that theory has always worked for me so have yet to doubt it.
As for finding war scepters, the two decent ones i have, 1 was from Hell Chaos Sanctuary way back in v1.08/v1.09 very old scepter  , I believe the other one I traded from Rebellions he got from hell Pindle. From experience of trying to find these damn things, ive found Arcane runs on hell diff with my wind druid drop some, never ones better than I have so most get left. With 0% mf I found quite a few socketable items but not too much elite ones drop in arcane.

iv had the most luck with nm cows, however, iv found 2 decent ones in norm cows.
what mods are you looking for sean? no one was interested in mine for trading, so you can have em if they;re what you're looking for. (thought they might not get max sockets, unfortunately)
one has +2 concentration and the other has +2 zeal +2 vigor +3 cold resist.

My dream scepter would be +2-3 zeal, +1-3 conc, +1-3 charge.
But I would take just zeal and conc.
Saytun, do you have 1 pt into charge? What is your charge dmg/ar compared to your zeal dmg/ar?

my current build has 1 point in charge because it was designed long before i joined this site and just for pubby dueling. I'll check the full damage etc but i think he does just under 1k damage and 1.3k ar? i'll check but its something around there. Zeal is 1.2k and 1.9k ar but i went high sacrifice and basic 4 point zeal
New one will be pure zealot, i'll just kill the pesky zons/sorcys/necs with a jav on switch instead of charging them

yes its called ATMA, it is hosted by Dii.net as well
though its not a "table" it does disclose the Mlvls and area_lvls
by entering the item, and then choosing to see the list based on Odds, u can go through the list and check the Mlvl noting what is above 25.
i did that real quick:

please note that the "fetish" things from act 3 i heard is a known bug with atma, they always have the best odds but that is untrue. it wouldnt matter though bc they are not above lvl 25:

so by that list, it looks like cows is the right place. since it has WAY more monsters packed in 1 area than all those other places with better odds, combined.

My current 18 zealot is a pure zealot w/o any pts into charge.
I am tempted to put a pt into charge if/when I remake since it seems so many other lvl 18s that I duel are charger/zealots and, with a good charge, can take off 1/3 of my life usually. Plus, it's nice to have against those pesky casters. If I could get +charge on a scepter with zeal and conc though... 
Looks like it's time to pay a visit or two or two hundred to norm cows...anyone on west NL want me to look out for anything in particular that I wouldn't normally pick up? (gems, low runes, certain non-magic/magic items, etc...)

Yeah, I've been looking to switch to a War Scepter too for a while now. My Eth runed pick is a little out of date. BTW knarl, if you could look out for some barb helms with some decent skills, that'd be great. Also, I'm in need of a 6soc crowbill, and some shaels. Other than that, find me a scepter too!

You can shop the war scepter with the skills you like at ormus/normal usng a ~16 char.. question is, how many socks would they give? and can you use the soj recipe to get max socks?
just a thought.

I was thinking about the:
3 Perfect Skulls
+ 1 Stone of Jordan
+ 1 Rare
but now I saw it works only with rares, how many sockets would a scepter bought in normal have? I bought a +3sac/+2might from ormus...
