okay im a huge anime fan, and i've watched quite of few animes here are a few recent ones:
Gundam Wing
Gundam X
Gundam Seed
Gundam Destiny
Kenshin All Seasons
Bleach Season 1+2
Gungrave
argento soma

i really like sunrise productions, but trigun and cowboy bebop where let downs i didn't get thought the whole series, i sorta found them to boring / quirky. i heard beserker was a good anime so im currently looking for that torrent.

but what anime series do you guys think are good? im not talking about north american animes, .hack and some others where decent. but personaly i hate dragonball Z just for the fact the reuse scences which makes a really crappy anime. i love extreamly long series if possible with sword fighting Smile

and movies. any good recomendations would be alright their too Smile

Ronin Warriors

I personally hate any childish anime, where the people fall down and make funny faces or whatever, which is the main reason I loved Gundam Wing (the rest were more and more of a let down...). DBZ had an element of that, but it was still a good show. I also enjoyed Zoids, there are several ones but I enjoyed the one with the tournament and the Liger.

Evangelion is an awesome anime. Good story, good animation, plus theres big robots and stuff so you'd like it(judging by your interest in Gundam).

Neon Genesis Evangelion was a good anime. One of my favourites. But yeah, Gundam Wing was good too. I couldn't stand DragonballZ after the first Goku and Vegeta fight. Kenshin was pretty good, but I didn't finish the series sadly, I heard it got much better. I did not like Trigun very much. Naruto was pretty bad as well. I actually liked Guyver a good deal, but that was when I was a bit younger, so I might not anymore.

I've watched a good deal of anime and for some reason my mind is drawing a complete blank. Oh, I liked Scryed, and Cowboy Bepop (very dark, which I like). I still haven't seen Berserk, and I really want to.

For movies: basically any Miyazaki film is great. Akira is a great one too. I'll post more after I research this a bit more, I'm troubled I can't remember most of the anime I've watched.

Detective Conan = One of my favorite animes, still going on in Japan
Fushigi Yuugi = This made me have a silent tear at the end...
Read or Die, Series and OVA
His and Her Circumstances = Excellent storyline, although the ending is horrible, and it's quite funny considering the money problem all GAINAX productions have.
Record of Loddoss War = Sorta a fantasy, adventure, Lord of the Rings kind of thing.
Full Metal Panic
Excel Saga
Hellsing = Sorta like a Blade type of thing.
Serial Experiments Lain = More mind raping
Witch Hunter Robin

Thats basically all i care to remember, and trying not to repeat what others already wrote, with exception of Trigun and Cowboy Bebop, i personally think they are great, but to each their own.

Ranma. I'm ashamed that none of you said this yet. Sad

(Ranma is definitely one of the best anime series I has ever been enthroned by me)

However, Lain? Loddoss War? Hooray or Outlaw!

Ras - I have all 25 Berserk installed into my Xbox. You're better off reading all the manga, as you can't finish the story with the Anime, and are left with an ending that torments you with a passion to see more. However, the outtakes are bloody hilarious.

ranma looks too girly

naruto got boring
bleach is sidetracked with the bounds
kenshin sucked after shishio
samurai champloo had a weak ending
hunter X hunter got sidetracked here and there, never really finished with the spiders
cowboy bebop should have ended with the scene with spike and lucious (sp?) in the chapel and not in the middle
full metal alchemist never finished watching
one piece was too long
never watched the gundam series, just the endless waltz movie
heard berserk was super gory and overall awesome

btw all the stuff i just said, overall good but each has its faults

Escaflowne was good i saw alot of it but i think it only has 26 episodes.

ghost in a shell is a very good anime to but i've seen to many random episodes on tv which just ruins the story for me.

full metal alchemist i thought was a pretty decent anime i watched the whole thing, i heard full metal alchemist was coming out with another series.

one peice is to much like a cartoon rather than an anime. for god sakes they show it on fox cartoon morning.

yea i heard the managas where better for beserker but i'm not much into the whole reading thing.

Neon Genesis Evangelion i saw alot of it, and it is easy to understand you must i dont see how its "mind raping," and witch hunter robin is a bland story, i can't even watch the show.

Love Hina + Movies i thought this was like a chick show.

naruto is alright but i can just watch that on tv.

although full metal panic look pretty good, soon i will buy a bigger hard drive so i can save the anime i download, i hate having to delete my anime ><

im going to look into those other animes thanks alot guys, and if any one has any other thoughts on anime lets hear em!

The basic storyline is sorta easy to follow and understand i suppose, but i'm thinking of the deeper meanings of everything, and how certain events that happened to the director influenced how the show was made. Not to mention the retarded ending.

If you only watch thru evangelion once, i guarantee you'll be missing alot of the info. Basically in the first episode, you already missed something if you only watched it once.

I've watched evangelion so many times i've lost count, due to i have it on dvd, and that it airs on Tv, and i guarantee you, i learn something new everytime i watch it.

I haven't seen Ranma but I never do, Escaflowne seemed good when I was 14, but not so sure now. I REALLY need to see Lain, maybe YouTube has them...Hm... I know a place that has all the Berserk episodes, so I will be watching them soon. I HATE manga, so I will go through the rest of my life ignorant, which is just dandy because I like leaving a somewhat open storyline.

I actually paid money for Record of Lodoss War and really wish I had not. I actually own nearly all the anime I have seen, or at least rented it at Blockbuster or Hollywood. But anyway, I never ever want to see Love Hina. Ah, yes Full Metal Panic, I have heard that is a good one, though the name "Full Metal" turned me off because it seemed like a huge Stanley Kubrick craze was happening in Japan. Anyway, Evangelion isn't that deep really. It's just about a kid who's insanely insecure.

I've found that Anime tries way too hard to be deep and thought-provoking. They just end up using excessive non-sequitur metaphors and the real message gets lost. That's why Miyazaki is such a great director. He keeps his movies and to the point. Most animes are muddled and phony.
