Lots of failed login attemps? |
|
I played a fair amount yesterday, and I kept seeing the message "failed login attempts: 1" after nearly every game I played. Is this some kind of bug other people have experienced or is someone actually trying to guess my password?

Lets put it this way.
You play d2 for a day, then logoff and go to sleep.
someone tries to login, unsuccessfully.
you login the next day, and you see the failed login attempts
you enter a game, then leave
you still see the failed login attempts
you exit b.net, and re-enter
you do not see any login attempts.

Speaking of failed logins, everyday for about a week now when I log on it tells me ive got about 9-12 failed logins.
I suspect that one of the people ive killed in games has gotten jealous and decided they want my chars.
So now my pass is about 12 characters long and nearly completly random.
Remeber keep your pass long and unguessable [i.e not your account name ]
It might have been yourself who got your pass wrong but if its not be careful.

Well, to keep your password that much more secure throw a few symbols from the top rack in at random
ie. !"?$%^&*()
i'm pretty sure bnet accepts these chars in passwords, definately accepts some of them, obviously i aint gonna be too specific
My buddy recently got guessed and lost an account, so make sure u make great big random passes and remember - it's almost always someone u know who did it!
