hey, i came across this link where you type in the name of a band and it gives you the names of other bands that you might like. i'm guessing the names of the bands that appear closer to the name of the band that you typed in might suit your tastes more than the others because i typed in the same band three times and got a similar scatter. i know that sounded confusing but just give it a try and you'll get what i'm saying, i'm just too lazy to explain it fully.
anyway, here it is:

this thing is very cool, aside from stacking band names ontop of band names. ill be using this in the future to find new bands. nicely done david

you mean that they put band names on top of each other? it starts out like that for me but then it slowly spreads out. hmm, i dunno.
the only problem with this is that now i have a crapload more music to sift through. oh well.
edit: i see what you're saying. i did a seach with 40 Below Summer and there weren't that many matches but when i did a search with Spineshank it took a good 30 seconds or so for everything to become unstacked. i guess with the more popular bands, this becomes a problem. also, it doesn't have every band it its database yet, 36 Crazyfists for example.

haha, only 145 gigs here. however, i don't have the patience to sift through that much music at once.

i have a folder system going. i try to organize my stuff ASAP after downloading it, otherwise it gets too much out of control.

organization isn't the problem for me, it's listening to it that takes forever.

is it just me or does new found glory seem to pop up on a lot of them, always in the corner though. I don't believe nfg sounds like across five aprils or as i lay dying.

according to musicplasma, evanescense is VERY close to metallica. but then again, apparently also according to musicplasma, there are two metallicas.
