traps |

If someone casts lightning sentry with 2x +traps claws, and then switches to other weapons that doesnt have as many +skills, does the trap damage go down?
Example: Cast 5x light sentry with 2x +3traps +3 light sentry claws (+12 light sent) and then switch over to hoto/stormshield (+3 light sent) will the traps be doing the dmg of +12 light sent (2x claws) or +3 light sent (hoto/storm)

mm i heard somewhere that light facets dont affect trap dmg...
is this true?

Yes its true
Traps Count as minions not as a skill so it doesnt affect
Although it does state it does do more dmg apparently it doesnt sorry dude

i do believe the -resist does work just not the damage aspect

traps are exactly minions.. if u prebuff a valk or bear with +skills their bonuses stay, so it is with a trap.
neither aspect of facets will work with minions/merc, and neither will help a trap. it is unfortunate

lol last time i told someone facets didnt work after they showed me their stuff (full of P facets including both his 3/2 trap claws), he called me noob and left......

i knew that the +skill damage on a facet didn't work for traps but i was always under the impression that the -resists did affect your opponent. i guess i was wrong?

i should clarify "layed" traps are minions
and psn facets do work.. (but this is for venom ofcourse) you also get the double effect like with enchant so having +%psn dmg is not good for venom

Indeed, the LCS does say that traps benefit from the +% skill damage, but it's wrong. The traps are treated as minions, and the effect doesn't transfer to them. -% enemy resistance doesn't, either.
Note that this just applies to the wake and sentry skills (that is, the trap traps). Fire blast and shock web do benefit from it.

yeah i would stick with other usefull things.. perhaps res jewels or sheals incase u want to become a fader and still need fast ias..

u can use ko,io,fal runes for any stat saving too.

Facets, or technically the modifiers 'Passive Lightning Mastery' and 'Passive Lightning Pierce' do NOT work with traps you set down. They DO work with the trap skills Shock Web and Fire Blast.
Items with these modifiers, like Ormus' Robes, or the runeword Crescent Moon, and the most common one, Griffon's Eye, also don't work.
The game considers your traps minions. Each trap you set down is like a stationary act 3 merc. This is why - enemy resist doesn't work. To the game, your -resist only works for you, saying it works on traps like Lightning Sentry is like saying facets on your char add to your lightning mercenary's damage.
Now, about the modifier +lightning damage. It DOES display that your trap damage is going up, and it SHOULD add, because the damage should be higher before you cast, but it DOES NOT WORK WITH TRAPS. It's a display bug. This has been tested by several people, including me. I tested it on open with +4000% lightning damage, and yes my damage appeared to go up several thousand, but 50 hits on a hell fallen showed no more damage than without the +damage.

so probably the best setup for assassin, assuming it has another person in party who can bo him, is +traps skills on switch, and wiz spike or hoto/storm on other hand? something like that
