Hi,

We all know that in a loop-the-loop, the velocity at the bottom of the loop before the looping is greater than the velocity at the top of the loop. My questions is: how can you find the velocity at the bottom?

I know what the velocity is at the top, radius of the loop, and gravity. (Am I missing anything?)

What is the forumula or method used to find the velocity at the bottom?

Much thanks

It's been awhile since I've done this sort of stuff but the following should be correct, barring friction and other minor forces.

to quote this morning's physics notes word for word:

"In the case of a cock putting its head into an empty utensil of glass where it crowed so that the utensil thereby broke, the whole cost shall be payable."

what that has to do with physics, or what we're learning im still trying to figure out. but i hope it helped. btw, that first bit made me lol. it was an early morning class, i was still tired and immature humour is hilarious when im tired.

Ahh! Thanks so much. I had forgotten about energy. B[x], was that written in mathtype or mathematica?

I dont know whether or not the number 1 homework cheater would fit me as a title because although I do ask many questions that fit into that category, I am not around enough to make the title worth while. If you've noticed, my questions are spaced apart quite significantly.

Neither. I'm not familiar with Mathtype and Mathematica is too annoying for writing something as simple as that. I used an MS Word formula editor. To get to it:
Insert > Object > Microsoft Equation 3.0
Depending on what version of MS Word you have, you might not have this. Though I think it might fall under a different name (starts with an 'M'), look for 5.0 at the end of the name. It's the same application, just a different format of entering the math.

Figures the first time I see B[x] post since I resurfaced, and it's to answer a math question.

Box, you're a hopeless math nerd. I'd give you a wedgie but you always seem to have hot chicks in your pictures so you get a pass. Smile
