rare kite shield lvl req 30 now...
is there any way i can know what lvl req and str req it will be after upgrading?

the str req will be 91.
as for level req, i heard somewhere that if the base item's level req (dragon shield is 25 in this case) is lower than 5 higher than the item you're uping (your kite shield is level 30 so 30 + 5 = 35), then the final up'd level req will be 5 higher than the original.
sorry if that sounds confusing but the bottom line is that i think it will have a level req of 35 after upping. hopefully someone else can clarify this and maybe phrase it better than i can.

yes it will be 35

the game tracks these upgrads constanly.

from normal => exceptional it will give a +5tag
fron exception => elite it will add a +7tag

(wich means a normals upgraded => elite have +12 total)

the tag goes off the HIGHEST req.

the highest req can be either the base level the item needs anyway (dragonshld are 25 minimum)

a magic mod on the thing
or even the req lvl of a gem,jewel, or rune

in this case there is a magical mod that makes this kite 30... wich means even if it had been a dragon shield, it would still have been 30.

but when u upgrade normal=>excep a +5 is added.. so the 30 becomes 35

if u then put a jewel into this with a lvl 32 req... the 32 is used and get the +5 wich will make it 37...

remeber it doesnt matter WHEN u jewel it. before or after upgradng.. the game is constantly checking for the highest req

thx for the help guys, another question.... if i upgrade it to a dragon shield will the % chance to block change too?

because right now i can use the kite with a 9 dex jewel in it for 75 block
but if i want to use an upgraded kite i'll have to put a -req jewel in it, so if the chance to block doesnt change i cant use it

sorry, it won't change, a dragon shield has the same blocking % as a kite.

its strange though... i have a -15% req up'd steelclash, using it i get 75 block
but with my nomral pdiamond steelclash i get 60 something

well the obvious is did u have the same dex? are the charatcers your checking the same level?

or did u check these properties with a paladin vs an assasin? cause paladins get more blocking.

same character, nothing that effects blocking changes

kite shield on sorc= 28%
dragon = 38%

dont trust arreat summit folks lol

so yeah the dragon gets like 10% more blocking.
