you heard wrong. you cant put 2 sockets into an already existing rare item. you can only re-roll it and hope itll spawn the 2 socket mod. you will however, also lose every other mod currently on the item. in other words, youll create a new item, maybe get the 2 socket mod, but the rest of the mods may suck. itll make a whole new item with the same picture.

iv never tried that formula, and its my understanding that it only adds 1 socket. even if you do it twice. i could be wrong though, infact, i hope im wrong. ill try it tomarrow and see.

That's right, it only says they can have up to 2 sockets if they already spawn with the "Mechanic's" prefix in advance. Formula only opens 1 socket.

Can't you add one socket at Larzuk, then add another with the formula?

i doubt it simply for the reason that if you could, it would most likely be well known and all the nice rares out there would have 2 sockets.

thats what i thought in the beginning, but the wording they have for that recipe makes you think otherwise. im glad i didnt waste a soj and 3 skulls to prove what i already knew.

No, you can't add sockets to an already socketed item. Otherwise, people would have 6-socket rares
