Are safety shields (5-10% magic resist) effective for taking off damage from blessed hammers and/or bone spells?

I did some calculations and it didn't seem very good, but I was just wondering if anyone else here had any different opinions.

Also, would it be worth it to craft a 10% fr/w blood amulet for some extra run speed for catching PnB necros with someone like a ww barb or would it be better to stick with a rare with more stats. I was thinking I could try to craft a 10% 70+ life amulet with maybe str or skills or something.

PnB necros are such a pain to catch. Neutral

I think it would really depend on the character. Certain caster builds have the option of switching the shield out, but a lot of characters will find more useful things to use instead.

Wind druid, trap sin, and cs zon all come to mind as builds that could use a crafted shield.

As for the crafted amulet, I'd say it's not worth it. 70 life is a level 30 mod on amulets, and being crafted would make it higher level than you could use. You're better off getting the frw from charms/skills.

You'll probably get similar results from a 2 masteries rare ammy from the bonus to Increased Speed.

usefull for a very special, focused 1 on 1.
but mostly you will never notice 10% magic mitigation helping at the cost of a more typical item

Depends on the barb/nec user. Vs most necs, I ww lock and it provides a nice ammount of synch. You can pull of a chase and random ww kill, but it would require a good ammount of frw.

ww locking is about the only way to catch necros on a barb and have a good chance of hitting them it just opens you up to eat too many spears/spirits to really be effective sadly Sad

vs nec and hdins i would definitely use a 10% magic res shield in a windy or cs zon. i'd rather have the clawblock on the sin though
