Subject description: How is it?		  
Did anyone get it? I went to the store and played around with it. Doesnt seem like anything special. Although I find it better looking than Windows XP, I dont think there was much difference. Is there some massivly enhanced feature about Vista, or is it just a better version of XP?

Alot of programs you'll have to run in compatability mode anyways, because Vista won't have drivers for it.


Vista is evil anyways. It detected my Wireless internet (except my computer doesn't use Wireless, it's for my roommate) and would disconnect me to try to connect to the wireless internet (except it'd fail because I'M NOT WIRELESS). Was a huge problem, so I removed the Vista beta and put back on Xp. I am however confused on how could it find the wireless network. It knew it's name, so I knew it was trying to connect to it...

Humm.. Almost everything I've heard about Vista is bad. I used to be all excited about it, and now I'm not that eager to get it.

I was just talking to a gamer today, and he was pissed that his video card got all messed up because there wasnt an update driver or something. So, I would definately agree with Grim on the lack of drivers.

I'll probably get it after a year or two, after the compatability issue has been resolved.. or partially resolved.

Ditto. Im happy to stick with XP for the moment.

Also, my current [~3-4 year old] pc does everything i need it to. If i got vista i would most likely need at least an upgrade. And then, some of the programs i use atm might not work. So whats the point?

I'm fairly new to the PC world (hopped over from Mac in March 05), and I already know that pretty much any initial release of Microsoft software is complete and utter garbage. Generally, in my experience you should never buy the first run of any Microsoft software or any Macintosh hardware. Wait for at least the second revision, when they fix all the numerous bugs they like to include at launch.

agreed.. its VERY VERY buggy.. uselessly in fact.. ill prolly use XP for another 2 years hah.
