PostPosted: Tue Aug 22, 2006 9:44 pm    Post subject:  Well my wife bought an a4 quatro turbo today

For a bit of a preface:

In 97 I bought my wife a Z3M for valentines day. Sick ass car. Straight 6, convertable and a hard top, 2000lbs and 320 horse power.

She called me today at work, "Can I trade in the z?"

Me : "F--- you?"

Her : "No I want this new car"

Me : "You gonna pay for it?"

Her : "Yes, I make 80k a year."

Me : "Cool. BMW's mine, trade it and we're through." [/sarcasm]

Her : "OK."

SO now, I have a 03 Wrangler with a 6 inch lift, 35 inch tires and a 97 z3m type bmw. And a new Audi A4quattro turbo to take on "family outings" on long twisty roads

I F-ing love my life Razz

Sounds groovy. What type of performance upgrades have you done? I believe the inline 6 that year only had around 190ish HP (it was the first year that BMW put the I-6 in it.) and weighed in at 2700ish pounts. Very sexy engine I might add. >< I'd take a nice I-6 over any other engine any day. 'Specially the Nissan inline 6.

I always felt that it weighed too much for a car that small. Sad But I guess all the structural modifcations to allow for a convertible type, while keeping the chassis rigidity, almost FORCE it to be a pig. Sad

RWD ROADSTER FTW!

The hell do you live that you need three foot tires? Then again, most car modifications are not done out of need.

Huge jacked up trucks are all the rage where I live. It's so you can get the upper hand over the mud puddles when you go rootin'.

Indeed Santino, indeed. Big trucks to me are like using a nuke to kill an antpile.

rofl, run some 42 inch super swampers on that truck of your's joey. thats what all the cool kids have Very Happy

my gf's brother just bought a 79 cj-5 jeep, 304 amc motor, 3 speed manual...took it out around the block (country block, that=4 miles here) and he didnt even have time to go play with it, just driving down the road, broke the drive shaft and stripped the gears out of the rear end, just from driving down the road....scary...

anyways, the plan was for some 35 inch mickey thompsons that he had layin around, and we was gonna hit some cornfields of ppl we dont like. now im sad.

and guys, it doesnt matter if its pointless for city driving or not...in a truck that big, you dont even have to look where your going...you just go. and shit gets out of the way, fast. if they are slow on the uptake, you barely feel the bump.

god i wish my cj-7 had a motor....the corn fields would be in some sheep dit

I don't have a big truck, but I could foresee it in the future as long as I lived in a rural area as I do now.

Seriously, big jacked up trucks are 20 times funner when you're hauling through the woods driving through mud puddles as I said earlier. Then it all makes sense!

I have to save up for that evo ix first.

Nice try Smile

But oil was still used to make a lot of it [tyres, lubrication oil, the paint maybe] coal or gas was used to create and shape the steel and it was still delivered in a petrol using lorry and made by people who drive to work... basically, every step in its creation damaged the world at some level.

So its still a cog [albeit a smaller one] in the petrochemical machine Razz

Reminds me of a Schwinn, Tridge. A classmate of mine rides a similar bike and the rest of us make fun of him. Not because of the bike he rides but because he's just a damn.. weird... kid. You know it's bad when a class of engineers makes fun of you. We call him Sputnik.
