For whoever needed it...

This character is built in compliance of LLD101 regulations and rules. It is normal rushed (not past act 5 normal), with Den of Evil, Radament, The Golden Bird, Lam Esen's Tome, Izual, Siege on Harrogath, and Anya quests completed.

Items
Helm: 3-Socket Mask
Fill this up with jewels; preferrably +15 maximum damage lv18 jewels. The higher, the better. Smile

Amulet: Angelic Wings (Set Amulet)
This, along with two Angelic Halos as your rings will increase your attack rating dramatically, thus, you hit more.

Weapon: Rare (Ethereal) Throwing Spears
Mine have a maximum of 65 throw damage, along with some attack rating. Ideally you want 20% increased attack speed, nice damage, + to attack rating, and replenish.

Armor: Twitchroe (Unique Studded Leather Armor)
Twitchroe offers +10 strength/dexterity, hit recovery, and addition to block among other things. Socket this with a maximum damage jewel.

Shield: Vulpine Bone Shield of Deflecting (Damage taken goes to mana/block and speed)
In the middle of duels, your constant Jabbing will eat up your mana quite fast. This will help you get more mana (if your opponent actually hits you) and the Deflecting modifier adds to block and block speed. Use the socket quest on this to gain two sockets, and put in maximum damage jewels.

Gloves: Death's Hand (Set Gloves)
These gloves, along with Death's Guard as your belt, offer resistances and an invaluable 30% increased attack speed, along with protection from poison.

Rings: 2x Angelic Halo (Set Ring)
Once again, along with the amulet, they'll offer alot of attack rating. The rings alone also add a total of +40 life and +10 replenish life, which will be somewhat helpful.

Belt: Death's Guard (Set Sash)
With the gloves, it offers IAS and resists. Alone, however, this is one of the most ideal belts, and offers the "Cannot be Frozen" modifier at an early level.

Boots: Cow King's Hooves (Set Heavy Boots)
These add damage, 30% faster run/walk, and a great bonus of +20 dexterity, giving you more points to add to vitality.

Inventory:
2x Shimmering Large Charm of Balance (16% FHR total to hit breakpoint)
36x Small Charm of Sustenance

Stats:
Twitchroe adds +10 strength, +10 dexterity, and 20% increased chance of blocking.
Angelic rings + amulet combo adds +10 dexterity.
Cow King's Hooves adds +20 dexterity.
Twitchroe has the highest strength requirement, at 27.
Rare Throwing Spears have the highest dexterity requirement, at 65.

Blocking
Vulpine Bone Shield of Deflecting has 65% chance to block, and 85% chance with Twitchroe on.
(Block * (Dex - 15)) / (Level * 2)
47 dexterity is required for 75% block.

Strength: 27 (+7)
Dexterity: 25 (+0)
Vitality: 103 (+Everything else)
Energy: 15 (+0)

Skills:
Javelin/Spear Skills:
1 Jab
More than one point isn't neccessary. This will be your primary attack.

Passive/Magic Skills:
4 Inner Sight
Cast this before dueling to lower your opponent's defense somewhat, thus increasing your chance to hit.

7 Critical Strike
This gives you 49% chance to do double damage, which will be useful, especially since the damage rolls in LLD are unpredictable.

7 Dodge
Since your primary duels will be melee, a level 7 Dodge will offer 42% chance to dodge melee attacks.

1 Avoid
Although missile attacks and spells are significantly easier to dodge manually, toss a point in here for 24% chance to avoid them.

1 Penetrate
Offers attack rating, which is important.

Hit recovery
Frames-FHR
0---------11
6---------10
13--------9
20--------8
32--------7
52--------6
86--------5
174-------4
600-------3

With Twitchroe (20% FHR) and two Large Charms of Balance (8% Each), you'll hit the 32% FHR breakpoint at 7 frames.

Attack speed
With Twitchroe (20% IAS), Death's Hand + Guard (30% IAS), and 20% IAS on your Throwing Spears, you'll get the 63% breakpoint with 5 frames per attack and 5 attacks per second.

Amazon/Throwing Spear/Jab
IAS//Frames per attack//Attacks per second
0% // 8FPA // 3.1APS
2% // 7.5FPA // 3.3APS
7% // 7FPA // 3.5APS
15% // 6.5FPA // 3.8APS
24% // 6FPA // 4.1APS
40% // 5.5FPA // 4.5APA
63% // 5FPA // 5APS
99% // 4.5FPA // 5.5APS
168% // 4FPA // 6.2APS
395% // 3.5FPA // 7.1APS

My current stats:
I'm missing a great deal of life charms, and have some poison charms in;

Strength: 37
Dexterity: 65
Vitality: 103
Energy: 15

Jab damage: 110-328
Life:612
Mana: 40

Helm: +45 max, 11% Fire resist
Amulet: Angelic Wings
Weapon: "Skull Spire", 20% IAS, 60% ED, +17 max dmg, +161 AR
Armor: Twitchroe w/ +15 max
Shield: Vulpine BS of Deflect, 9% DtM w/ +30 max
Gloves: Death's Hand
Rings: Angelic Halo
Belt: Death's Guard
Boots: Cow King's Hooves

If I missed anything tell me...that's it for now Smile

Is there any reason you've gone with throwing spears over war javelins? Ive been trying to imbue some nice war javs but if I should be concentrating on throwing spears instead id like to know Rolling Eyes

Good guide tho, thanks

He went with Tspears because he happens to hav a pair of 20 ias/60 ed/ 17 max dmg Tspears. War Javs will tend to do more damage, and have lower requirements. Tspears work, but War Javelins are better if you get the mods you're looking for.

Hey, great guide. I'm ditching my unsuccessfull 18 Conc Barb and making a jabber to replace him. I'm just wondering where the best place to shop the Vulpine Bone of Deflecting would be? Probably Anya still, huh?

Do it for yourself. Let yourself know that your character is good. Don't pot.

Edit: You don't need the "vulpineness" from the shield; 20% from angelic wings is enough.

when socketing magical items, it's 50/50 as to whether you'll get 1 or 2 sockets, no matter where the item if found or what NPC it is socketed at.

I have a Lvl 18 Zon that I goof around with. Mostly just a mule but she has all this stuff on her. Her stat points are just screwed because she was a very old 1.09 character that I had. Maybe I should remake her and try to kill some of those Zealot clones that are always killing my little level 9 Zon and gufawing about it. Only problem is I would have to collect a crap load of 15 life charms. I have some eth wars spears I could do up too. I have a Swordback Hold Shield on her. Is this a bad choice? 50% chance for open wounds and attacker takes 10 damage as well as 20% increased chance of blocking seemed like nice mods. Figured I could poke them full of holes and just let them bleed to death....lol.
