 How do you negate magic DMG? |

Is there a new way to negate/absorb magic damage? Was in a pubby game; 34 Sorc and 30 smite pally never took any dmg from my Nec. Spear & Spirit 470-550 dmg. Pally maybe he was blocking it, but Sorc? Was it a hack or my Nec dmg is too low? I thought SOL runes, but isn't that physical dmg reduce only?

There's no way it could "block" your spear or spirit.

Sol runes only reduce physical damage.

Depends on your gear/level. If it was level 30, you want around 700. 470 is relativaly lowish.
Did the sorc have ES? That could be one factor, all the damage went to the mana. Another one, if the smiter got close, and was smiting you, it could of showed you were casting, but was getting knocked back at the same time. Which would cancel out your spells/mobility.

Or two Spirits, Vmagi, and String of Ears could be doing a helluva job, if that's what the Smiter was using.

with 16 absorb and 30 mdr your 500 magic = about 20-25 pvp dmg.
ES will ofcourse mess things up

500 is lowish....how do i increses it
13 spear
10 wall
6 prison
1 spirit
what did i do wrong?
using Umes wand and .09 nec shield....no SOJ's yet, but still....Pcrown and V.magi w/rubys....how can i get to 700....u will need godly items.

heh, you can hit 800max damage with a norm rushed char...but you would need a +5wand AND shield. Just play around with the skill planner to see how much damage you can get.
