Just saw it on opening day, being the fan i am. Wells would have been proud of the tech put into this film, but not the story(weak).

Death & Destruction! always saves a movie like this. ID4 is so sad now Laughing
although 'X-Files Fight the Future' is still my fav alien based flick

Who saves mankind?..........Something that has lived on earth for millions of years before our primative butts, ill tell u that much(unless u read the book before and know the story!)

I just got back from seeing it, I thought it was pretty funny ppl getting evaporated... Lol, I never read the book, so the story was really weak to me.

Huge Spoilers ahead, the topic is labeled spoilers.. so don't delete this crap.

Coulda' been better.

The little girl screaming the entire fucking movie got old FAST.

If I was cruise, I would have booked it to a forest, ran deep inside with some food and crap, and stayed there. Sure, you'd never know if everything was safe or not, and wouldn't know when to come out, but it's better than running around the streets like a fool "OMG OMG ALI3NZZ!! WTZOR.. LETZ SH00T TahT HuG3 FuXin R0BoT w1t M4CHIn3 GuNzoR!.. WTF TEH BULLAT BOUNZ3D oFF.. shiz."

Uhh.. or, la la la.. sleeping in the woods.. It's dark and stuff, but atleast I don't hear "REeeeeeEOOoooOOoooRrrrrRrrrRrrrRRrRrRrRRRrRR STOMP STOMP STOMP STOMP STOMP STOMP" every couple minutes.

Also, what the hell? Why did they shoot blood and shit everywhere?... and HOW DID THAT KID SURVIVE? Damn boy walks out of the house at the end.. I wanted to yell bullshit, but the huge guys all around me were already pissed off because I laughed when all those corpses were floating down the river.

5 out of 10 from a huge alien fan.

Yeah, this part annoyed me as well, that wasn't explained at all and I hate when that happens in movies. It's one thing to leave something hanging but to not explain something at all really ticks me off.

Also, I'm not a very big fan of movies that end thanks to a deus ex machina. Sure it's an interesting concept how the aliens died thanks to the microscopic organisms that we humans are mostly immune to but I'm not sure if it was worth making a movie out of. However, a book that includes it wouldn't upset me as much; they're cheaper to write. Speaking of which, I might go read the book soon - they almost always explain things a lot better than a movie ever can.

i think its pretty funny how when the original war of the worlds was played on the radio, there was mass panic, as people thought it was a real event. Laughing
