Rules for owning expensive things:

1. Don't take them near sleazebags
2. Don't take them out of your pocket
3. Keep a knife incase someone tries to rob you.

It's a lot easier to break someone's window and grab something that's inside the car that it is to break someone's window and hotwire the car. A friend had his faceplate stolen not too long ago - the guy just smashed the window and reached in and grabbed it. This is why my friend (and we all should) stores his faceplate (or whatever valueables we have) in his glove compartment or under his seat.

the real anal people take it with them everywhere. i used to, but it really was a pain. my car has been broken into once, and stolen out of my drive way once, so i got an alarm/imobilizer. now i just lock my face plate in my glove box.

Buy security camera's.
After the fifth or sixth criminal event to take place around here, since we seem like such easy targets, we got em. No one fucks with us anymore, because we stuck one on a like 15 foot poll, and 2 on the front of our house pointing in different directions.

where you park in parking lots affects your chances of being broken into by atleast 80%

sometimes parking in groups is bad, sometimes it's good. depends on the location..

People don't break into cars because they think something valuable is hidden somewhere, they break into them because something valueable is in plain sight.
