When I used to work at *cough cough* Dunkin Donuts, I had to cut those damn croissants in half! No bagel slicers don't work, especially since we make our croissants "fresh" so they end up being squished since they're so soft. My trick would be to sorta cut all around the circumference and then work my way in.

I'dhave to say a non "teethed" very sharp thin knife would be the best way to do it.

sounds to me like you need to buy a pair of sandwich cutting scissors!
either that or hire a professional samurai with a diamond edged blade to follow you around and slice your sandwiches as if they are his enemy's children's innards

The solution:
I prefer whole wheat or multigrain over the white variety but since you're the one with the sandwich dilemma, beggars can't be choosers.

I like how they puffed the bag with air to make it look all full and inviting. Too bad their white bread tastes like flavorless paste. I always liked how you could smush the bread in your hand and revert it to a wad of dough.
Actually, here's the solution to my dilemma:
Get someone else to make me a croissandwich.

they make good mini donuts though. do that ^, then deep fry them and roll them around in cinnamon/sugar. voila, festival mini donuts.

you must use an extremely sharp serrated knife (a *heavy* knife, by knife standards), using broad strokes and letting the blade "fall" through the croissant, using the weight of the blade, rather than the pressing force of your arm to cut through the thing. like cutting top slits into an unbaked calzone or pie. if you press it, or use a light knife, its gonna pull the dough apart, rather thn cut through it.
