dude, zero, u gotta learn to chill...

there are plenty of americans who are dissatisfied with the government. they are generally called liberals...those who want to see some positive change. its not just canadians that dont approve of us. theres nothing wrong with not being american, or not liking america...

how can u say that the watergate scandal wouldnt affect someone in another country? im certain it would... if nixon had never resigned, we might have a different president than bush today, who could have avoided 2 costly, useless wars that created a gigantic hole in our country's treasury.

and your "stuffing up" controversy right now...

i dont agree totally with what jason said, but i do agree with most of it. especially the part about government being dishonest...

In Voices' defense, I'm afraid of Americans that live east of the Rockies and west of the Appalachians.

However, from what I understand about Canada, their laws regarding pornography are stricter than ours. So screw Canada. They may have better hockey, beer and comedians, but we got porn and guns! PORN and GUNS, I tell you! What else does a man need?

Seriously, tho', why is it no one can voice their opinion on a subject, no matter how uninformed it may be, without immediately getting flamed for it? Was Voices a little trite in his comment about the insignificance of Deep Throat's identity? Yes. But Americans have a nasty habit of assuming what's important to us is immediately important to everyone else in the entire world. We need to get over it. France and the Netherlands just voted no on a proposed EU constitution. That is WAY more significant than who Deep Throat is, but you won't find it on the cover of a newspaper in America today. When 9/11 occurred, we pretty much forced (yes, forced, which I'll gladly debate with anyone who disagrees) the entire world to grind to a halt and mourn the massive suffering and loss we endured. Was 9/11 tragic? Yes. Was it a horrible event? Yes. Does it measure up in even the top 10 of practically ANY 20th century large scale human loss of life? Not even close. 9/11 was a hiccup for many countries around the world - some who only WISH their loss of life was under 5000 people. (Try being a Muslim in Bosnia nowadays, or a democratic supporter in Pol Pot's regime, or a gypsy pretty much anywhere.) Hell - people are STILL dying from the Indionesian tsunami aftereffects, and most Americans probably couldn't even TELL you where the damn thing hit. THAT death toll measured in the hundred of thousands, and it took our President four days to respond on the subject, and our initial offering of aid was embarassing.

So please, just understand that you may think Voices a twit for his response, but people from other countries (which Voices is) think us equally twitish when we do what we do.

And tell me, how knowledgable are you on the low-grade but constant momentum for independence the Quebecois have been pushing for in Canada? Did you know that Canada maintained diplomatic contact with the Vichy government in France during WW2? Do you know what the Vichy government even was? America is the largest and most powerful glass house on the planet. Please don't throw stones.

With a country so big, and populated as the U.S.A. you think we are able to prodice enough to give to EVERYONE? the answer is no, with a country with people who can afford things to use eletricity and people who have high standards such as the U.S. and our drinking water, its impossible. Sure other countries do it that are as large as us but they are bare-footed ragged people. Look at India (not to affend anyone) They are big on technology but most of thier country has arranged marriages and have 5-9 kids. They live in ramchackle huts and burn their wifes. Another country is china. More and more people are getting jobs and money there so people move to the cities. They can barely support themselfs with crops, and the ciry are is extremely dirty, worse then anywhere in the U.S. Everyone wants electronics and to live the good life there, pretty soon they will be doing the same thing.

laughing, my, ass, off. you can buy porno at the age of 18 in canada. and not that you mentioned anything about it, but you can also drive a car at the age of 14 in alberta. assuming you live on a farm.

lol the funny thing is, my house was a stop on the underground railroad, has quite a history of helping me become free. Tunnels in my backyard (very cool)

And there goes a list of the few reasons why im moving out of the USA when im done with school.

honestly i dont understand how you can say that when you have never been in southern america. i live in the south of america and i am not a racist nor a bigot nor a member of the KKK. i have lots of friends who are black. i know that there are people who still are racists and there still is a KKK but you shouldnt think that every1 is a member just because they live in the south.
