Level 31 Smiter vs Level 29 Smiter |
|
For a pubby "LLD" would there but much of an advantage to 31 vs 29? Nightmare rushed.
I was thinking if 31 would give me a big enough advantage it would be worth going up two levels if I build a smiter. But, the only real changes I see are that I can use rockstopper which should be nice against melee though pcrown is godly and I can use sexy 15% IAS jewels. Anything I'm missing? I just don't think the IAS jewels are rockstopper are even better than what I can get at 29 but I don't know squat about smiters.

the +2 combat mods and levels add about 4-5 more HS
and fanatasism takes that speed/dmg up too

So you would say 31 is worth it? I was thinking with all the levels you could put in concentration it would be better. What kind of gear could I use on a pretty tight budget?
Weapon - No Idea
Helmet - Pcrown/Rockstopper/3 Socket (Jewels?)
Armor - Upgraded Twitch (Jewel?)
Shield - Rhyme Barb
Belt - String of Ears
Boots - Sanders/CK
Gloves - Bloodfist (Upgraded?)
Rings - SoJs but they're too expensive so I need alternative.
Amulet - +1 Pally Other Mod Ammy
Thats close to what my 29 in open uses. Just copy/paste that and fill in what you think I should use if you have the time.

THe shield i'd say u'd want a hawk-branded barbed of deflecting
The ammy go for a +2pcombat

Problem with that shield is rarity and no CBF.
This is hardcore by the way.

Ladder HC? a spirit akaran rondache(30) should be good. +2 ALL skills so it add to fanata as well
if it has 50-60% ed as well those 2 skil points should make up the dmg lost from barbed
Weapon - some +skills 20-30 ias scepter (shoppable)
or steel/strength runeword = affordable
Helmet - Rockstopper sounds good
Armor - Upgraded Twitch.. sure why not
Shield - Rhyme Barb ok
Belt - String of Ears sure
Boots - Sanders boots / upped goblins for crushing
Gloves - Bloodfist (Upgraded?)
use angelics for the dtm and 95 life, also in case u need to charge, the ar helps
a +2combat ammy(30) to buff hs is good though
eye of eltich if u got laying around
on HC i dont think a smiter will ever get an ear

Yeah, it's ladder HC. The one problem is that if I don't use rhyme barbed I won't get the CBF which would ruin a smiter. Can I use spirit for HS prebuff? Why don't you think I will get an ear though. I don't really care if I everyone chickens out but I'm more looking to just embarass and own them than I am to actually kill them. As long as I don't get owned all the time and don't die I'm cool.

u can use the deaths sash or spirit shroud for CBF if u go with a something other then rhyme.
the +2spirit as buf is fine.. u dont get the +2 to your fanata as well.. but spirits are GREAT buffs... make a shield and sword for +4hs ^^

Already got a nice sword or two. I figure I could use like a targe or something since ED/Res are useless for prebuff. I just personally think that twitch and rock are greater than spirit is better than rhyme. Couldn't think of any way to phrase that sentence right, lol. Losing twitch/rock would be a greater sacrafice then losing spirit would I guess is good phrasing. What kind of socketing are we talking about on armor/helm/weapon? I hear ED off armor works but doesn't display.

check out your speeds. at lvl 30 + use a +2 combat skills/3 conc+ 30 ias warscepter and shael twice, my firend uses one of these but instead of the 30ias he has one of 5% amp dmg. to hit the last break point u will need 129% ias.. so 10% from bloodfists, 20% twitch, 30% from magic warscepter, 20% shael, 20% shael. = 100% ias socket 2 15 ias jewels = 130% thats if you went for concentration instead of fanaticism.

You know, why didn't I think of this before? I can use a spirit sword, it will give me a nice boost to aura and combats, insane 55% FHR, huge mana and great vitality. Then what I can do is I can socket the twitch and rockstopper with 15 IAS jewels. If anything, this build should be one hell of a tank with huge defense and big FHR.

i think swords are range 1? (cept crystal?)
war scepter = range 2?
since your doing that make it from a long sword (-10wsm)
with a long sword 1 into fanata +4spirits:
fanata 5 needs 55ias to hit 6 frames
twitch + bloodfists + 2 ias jewels

What instances would a reduced range have an effect? Luckily I already have one in both crystal and long.
Also I'm talking about only using spirit sword, not shield.

range is quite important vs other smiters and ww barbs... these are the main two that increased range has a big effect on.. if you go with a spirit sword i recomend fanat, as you wont be getting a decent speed with conc. the only times my smiter uses the dual spirit option is when i duel a fire trapper or other stunning characters.

Pretty nice. Only about 20 or so less max damage with fanata and a visible increase in speed when I use long sword. I guess I could use crystal if I need to duel another smiter or WW barb. Another thing, it seems that even if I used a spirit shield on secondary to prebuff it doesn't affect the damage at all.
