I think this works with the slightly better chance to block aswell that you get from HS. another thing I am slighltly pondering. As i was testing this vs my friend vlld assasin with a plain buckler and no aura and no weapon. But everynow and then the block noise would occur but he claimed it was still getting the dmg through. Does this mean that vs assasins they could possibly get block animation but not be actually blocking it? Im confooozeld   Can anyone enlighten me if these 2 observations or correct?

the block animation does play occasionally. it should be happening vs anyone
and yes HS pre buff stays, even though the displays show a drop in dmg/def

OK thanks for that.. By the way, just found this.. wondered if it was worth keeping, or should i just have hoped it had dropped as a Barbed shield with 2 sockets  If i do keep this should i socket it once and what would i socket it with...

its incredible.. even though yours is not barbed its one hell of a find. the FHR, MDR defence and dtm sorta make up for that 15dmg imo.
i happen to have found a barbed with near mods as that in the first month of 1.10.

sadly its gone ofcourse.
as long as u buff with a spirit shield and good scepter that grim is still nice

OK so i shall keep it, but what to socket it with... PDiamond or a rare jewel of some kind with stats? altho using this shield i am doing 40 less average dmg than when I use a barbed shield. And damn unlucky about that your barbed shield. oh and it boost my deff by 400 over my when i use the barbed. but at 1.4k def i dont think im aiming for a deffence build as im sure all lld's could reach that ar easily  so question remains, what to socket it with? or even a -15% + stat jewel, as i dont think any other part of my equip needs much str...

if enhanced dmg adds to smite i reckon a ed / dex / strength jewel or a combination of those 3. what are your resists? if there low use p diamond.

sound like a very nice jewel. if your resists are fine as they are and your block speed is also fine go with 2 of those sexy jewels

 or just one, cos its rare.... hmm been wondering would a monks warscepter of quickness/swiftness i forget which with like +3 conc.. be better than a steel cutlass? as i sacrifice a fair amount of speed if i do, and i wouldn't hit the last BP for smite and no 50% OW.. and is it only in the shield that the edmg% works with smite?
