My lvl 30 lld smiter is finally COMPLETE, and needs some ratings and some pointers on becoming better

My gear is as follows (shael'd wizendraw on offhand):

Skills (base points, and not showing pre req's)

smite - 20
charge - 1
holy sheild - 7
fanatacism - 1
defiance - 7

Also: I think i have hit every breakpoint on ias and fhr, let me know if i have/haven't so i can fix it

from what im seeing, it looks good. maybe a few off stat gear, but good. the only thing i wondering is, maybe a better armor? thats just me, i dont like spirit shroud.. maybe look for a eth repair not good armor or something..

but other than that looks good.

i only use spirit shroud for the cbf and life rep, but then again, duels using smiter dont usually last more than 20 secs for me, but should i switch to vipermagi while im not fighting blizz sorcs?

well since your ryhme has cbf on it also, id say stick with the vmagi, for any ele dueler. 35 to resists can elp, speccialy since you dont have max. id try to look for a eth armor of somesort. for main armor. and put vmagi on switch.

definitely get sojs. id also work on getting a better weapon. you have the right idea of a weapon with ias/skills but your base weapon is slow and i didnt check but i dont think 60ias/fant is getting 6 frame. soe/viper would be good choices until you get a good skilled barbed shield.

basically, smiter gear is all about getting most +to skills as you can(for more damage), then life, while maintaining a fast smite speed.

The weapon is cute, but not one of the best choices made. You could use a 6 Socketed Miltary Pick or War Axe with Shael runes, but the best choice would be a 2 Socketed, 2 to Combat Skills, and 3 to Fanatism War Scepter with 2 Shael runes. I recommend you using Stone Of Jordans for the +1 To All Skills and the Increase Maximum Mana 25%, and also because Smiters doesn't require any Attack Ratings. The belt you're using could be a bit better if you use String Of Ears.

86 fhr isnt too important for a pally, you can probably get away with the one lower than it so use string of ears. and like puddles said, definately use sojs. for the weapon, either use conc aura with a 6 shaeled military pick, or find a war scepter with combat skills and +fana. also, no need to use spirit shroud since you have cbf on rhyme. or if you want, use spirit shroud and up'd swordback when you dont need resists, and use vmagi and rhyme when you do

use sojs. a better replenish p crown. twitch for melee duels and a longer range weapon than a crystal sword

Gear isn't bad @ all!

One thing that I noticed was your low life, try get this a bit higher

lose the pcrown, get a 2os 2pcomb circlet with some +life on base and put 2 prubies in it

lose the rhyme, get a 2pcomb 2os barbed shield and put 2 sols in it

lose that ammy, get a 2pcomb 60+ lifer

lose the belt, use String of Ears

lose the rings, use sojs

lose the weapon, start off with a +3 fanat 2 shael scepter, the best is a 5% ctc amp, 3 fanat, 2 shaeled scepter (this goes nice with any other +skills) 1 pally skill 3 fanat 2 shael scepter is also good, but using an amp scepter can make you hit above 1k smite when it activates.

all in all, i have the build im talking about, and i hit 598 smite (before amp) 1171 life, and just under 3k defence. res is low but i keep a spirit/vmagi in stash for casters. also use 2 spirits on your switch to prebuff holy shield.
