I have some questions on a build for a MLD Barb lvl 58.

1.) What is the best build? What should I max? WW/Conc? Berzerk?
2.) What would be the best Weapon to use? Rare sword? Oath? What type of Oath? Eth vs non-eth?
3.) What would be the best Shield? Sanct? 4x 40/15ias Monarch?
4.) What would be the best Armor? Up'd Shaft? 4x 40/15ias + life?
5.) Ring + Ammy combo? Angelic's + Raven? Best boots + gloves? Or gores + bloodfist?
6.) What should I keep in the inventory??

Feel free to post any suggestions or tips. That would be greatly appreciated

lets see on mine it was max conc and a couple points into ww since he was a melee build but not sure what you want to do with it oath small crescent and yes up'd shaft is also what i used gores and bloodfist or 20 ias 10 cb +dual stat gloves if u can find em 15 dr 15 mdr soe angelics/raven combo 40/15 arreats but am at a loss for the shield enuf str. to use gear and enuf dex for max b lock and rest into vit and for your inventory it should be entirely made up of max/ar/life scs or something along those lines then switch is kinda obvious with wc weps hope this helps


come to think of it i think it was a sanct. monarch for cast and a 40/15'd monarch for melee

for the build it's up to whether you want melee or bvc or a mix of both (mine was mainly melee but could do fairly well against casters) if you are deciding to do both i would suggest getting some nice life/frw scs because the life is what is going to make you great so you can't drop that for frw so try and get them both for that type of build

Still confused on the weapon. What about an eth highland blade? Or champion sword? How much slower/faster are they than a cryptic blade?

not sure on the speed but the main reason for me using an axe was cuz i was melee but for cast i guess it would be better to have longer range so a champ or highland would be better in that sense but not so sure as to what you want to do and for the speed i raelly have no idea

eth highland oath is your best friend. highest base speed and damage for lvl 49 iirc

but if going for lvl58 I'd say go for grief zweinhander

for shield sanc vs caster and yeah a 40/15 for melee.

on my old 49barb I used a duress and I really like that armor, but if dr is really important to you then yeah I guess up'd shaft

greif is 59 if your going to 58 id use a eth oath balrog blade

life is formost but def is also important..for that reason put 3-4 30def/20life scs in there also..

if you're going to 58, eth oath bb = not good, esp if you're going to be ww... pretty kickass

you wont need a 40/15'd monarch... sanc trolls nest is best shield hands down... high block & lots of res... & pretty high def too

up'd shaft is your best bet for armor if you're going to be melee, for caster, you can pretty much wear w/e... i never switched out my armor vs casters, never needed to with all the res from sanc & other gear

might wanna keep a cats eye/2 ravens in stash for casters... but for melee angelic ammy, ring & a raven

boots = gores, gloves = not good 20ias/str/dex/life/cb -- your choice on what you want, or if you wanna go cheap route, lavagouts

life/ar life/def or anything else useful like frw, fhr, resists in inventory - you got 40 slots to work with cuz no anni/btorch

bfists and soe are a good cheap glove/belt combo. ik glove/belt also work

58 id go pure ww w/ 1 point conc which you need anyway

amulet/rings - if you can get a godly dual stat rare one (ex: fiend sunder on east) use that + 2 ravens. otherwise id say angelic + ring/1 raven. and u can go cats/ravens vs caster

up'd shaft vs melee w/ 40 ed/9 str jewel; duress dusk vs caster
sanc troll nest
gloves - id look for dual stat/life classic gaunts
tgods/soe for belt dep. on situations
gores id go for boots and have tri resist stat classic boots vs casters

invent - all fine charms of life (ideal = 32020s). if you want frw id suggest 8x3/xx/5 as bel and i found that optimal

my 49 i went this on skills:

max mastery
max bo
rest ww
1 all prereq
1 into iron skin/nat resist/inc stamina/inc speed

do not go 59; that is not mld and the use of grief+fort is retarded, youre basically a hld.

Thank you guys! I have taken everybody's input and here is what I'v come up with:

Max: Mastery, Bo, and WW. (I'm not going any higher than 58 )
1 all prereq blah blah.
1 into iron skin/nat resist/inc stamina/inc speed blah blah

I'll take your guys's advise on the Eth oath BB. Hope its fast enough.
I'm going to use:
Arreats 40/15ias
Up'd Shaft 40/15ias
Sanct. Monarch (I think they look cool ) and a 160/45ias Monarch for Melee
Angelic Ring + Ammy + Raven
String
Gorerider
And bloodfist till I can find a good pair of gloves

Reasoning: I'm going with the 40/15ias's in the Arreats and Shaft because 30ias + 50ias (from sword) + 10ias from gloves gives me 90ias. The breaking point is 86% for 8.5, 125% for 8.0 (which will be achived when useing the 160/45 for melee)
Arreats + Sanct + Blood fist will give me 80% FHR and the breaking point is 86% for 4, and 200% for 3. I'll go find 6 FHR charms to compensate for when I take off the Sanct. So i'll still be above the breaking point.
Rest of inventory is gonna be lifers/ar/max (no 320's, they dissapear too much)

I'll keep standard sorb gear for the high level casters, maybe even Gangel, but sanct + arreats is fine for Norm and NM, + I got nat res. and Anaya will back me up too

...No, go 49. Make a conc barb.

Use either highland or small crescent.

If you use highland use angelic and then one rfrost.

You won't have any block with a 160/40 shield for melee...

Go conc, because it takes more skill, and you can duel more people (remember WW is ranged in MLD).
