I tend to study the night before an exam. I just continually reread notes until I'm comfortable, then if I have about an hour before the exam, I'll skim over the notes again to keep it fresh. This method usually gives me the best results.

if you have a lot of notes and only part of it is important, highlight important definitions and information.
then read through all of it, dont study it hard, just read through it right before you go to bed.
it'll help a ton-it works for notes, equations in math..if you're doing theatre you can memorize lines this way...etc...

if its math, just put the equations in your calculator.
if the equation is straight forward, just program it in so you can just input the values and dont even need to think.

Well, for math I usually can figure it out without even having to study. So I'm usually safe on math, and seeing I might not even need anothe rmath course the rest of my life.
Mainly my problem is learning terms in science courses. And learning reactions and what the product of the reaction, or product and knowing the reaction.
I think for the next test I'll try the writing out the terms like people suggested a few minutes a day, then cramming at the end haha.
What about for finals? Is there any trick any of you use to cover all of the material that was coverd over the semster?

If it's a big final that I want to (have to) do well in, I suck it up, do it properly, and study a chapter a day for a week or however long before the final.

Get a study buddy (or buddies)!! Probably the most important thing to success- and I didn't learn this until my senior year. Even if you two only each pay attention to or absorb 50% of the material in the class, when you combine the minds you will know like 90% of the material. Its also the only way to guarantee that you won't slack off or get too distracted (provided that atleast one of u is somewhat motivated). Also you can work on homework solutions together. Just make sure to pick someone who isn't a total slacker, but on the other hand don't pick some bookworm who feels they are too good to waste time with you or you feel you couldn't keep up with. Actually I'd stick to friends for that.
