Can you just imagine how many shield spawn with those mods in a week time? Maybe a dozen with all those exact stats. Most are left on the ground but that guy just picked it up so you can't argue about something like that.

Why do people keep calling items bits of useless data. They have real value.

By that logic your bank account is bits of useless data, it's not Harry Potter they don't have a huge vault filled with gold thats tended to by Goblins.

A similar item is not proof AT ALL.

Say you had an iPod stolen and your name let's say "J. Thomas" was engraved on it. You're walking down the street and you see someone holding an iPod and it just happens to have "J. Thomas" engraved on it. Does that mean it is YOUR iPod? No, it doesn't at ALL. That is not proof whatso-ever. That is coinsidence.

I have a very odd last name, and I've googled it before, and there are hundreds of people with the same FULL name as me.

How do you know this guy didn't buy that shield off someone? Someone didn't toss it in a game because it wasn't of value to them when the real "hacker" (If there really IS one) "stole" your items? How do you know it is't just another RANDOM drop? Rares can drop and spawn the exact same mods, even the same name. Why not a grey shield?

If this was real life, this guy could totally sue you with no proof, even if he did do it.

I agree with spazz.

A while ago before I was a mod I was trading Bx or something or maybe he was just in the game. I was jumping in and out of the game and I clicked ok to give him my sojs, then exited the game. When I returned I said I gave bx my sojs. He claimed I didnt so I got back on my other char and the sojs were gone. I said I had to have given them they were gone. He said no he didnt have any on his char.

To me, all evidence pointed to Bx took my sojs.

Then I found out sojs could poof. They must have poofed at the exact time I thought I had givin them to him, but instead of clicking yes he clicked the x. Chances of that were slim but thats whats happened.

Sometimes things can appear in a way because you dont see how they could really be any other way Neutral

it seems strange tho...that the same kind of shield with the same stats would turn up so soon after people started getting their accounts stolen.

Did anyone even check out the link i posted above? At first glance on his "post summary" page, he seemed to be a pretty reputable guy. For the sake of time, I didn't delve TOO far into his posts to attempt to dig up dirt on him.

Iirc, it was the rpgforums site. He had about 1500+ posts i think too. He seemed swell.

EDIT: Yes, Meitou is 100% correct on the point that you can suspect, but cannot accuse without proof. If you want to suspect he's done it, go ahead, it's completely logical TO do so. It is not, on the other hand, logical or even civil to ruin someone's reputation by accusing them when you have absolutely no proof other than a similar item.

If this guy did it, which he may have, wonderful. You caught the guy if so, but until you can prove he did, you should shut the hell up. All of you who accused him, put yourself in the accused's situation. He could just be some random guy, who found a decent shield in normal cows, decided to post it on a forum. Instead, he is harassed, has his name thrown in the dirt, and has lost the respect of an entire forum (other than us who RESPECT other's rights, but hey). How would you feel?

Confused?
Angry?
Sad?

All of the above?

Please, I'm asking that you guys take everything into consideration, and get some solid facts down before you ruin the reputation of a potentially innocent kid.

I would like to see if there has EVER been another shield posted on LLD101 with those exact mods in the site's history. I doubt it.

Also, murder and theft are in two catagories so radically different that it is retarded to even compare them to eachother.
