My lv 30 smiter is decent, but is he to high for Lld?

Yes he is too high. Anything higher than 28 makes smiters overpowered in LLD.

i dont want to rumage around in tables right now. or use skill planners and such..

is that bc of the extra +skills? or speed? or new mods on rare items?
whats the dmg u see on a decent 27 vs a 28 and 29?

Biggest difference: Having a 5 shael WS with good +skills, string of ears, and a rhyme barbed.

At lvl 27-28, you'll have around 300 average smite dmg.

At lvl 29, I've heard of ppl getting 500+ average smite dmg, at 6 frame smite. (100 ias from shaels, 10 from bloodfist, 20 from twitch)

Versus 7-8 frame smite at lower dmg at lvl 27-28.

You can get about 350 damage smite at level 28, and 300 at 27. Both levels can get 6 frame smiting from a cutlass with 15% ias (steel cutlass or, if you're good with shopping, monk's cutlass of alacrity). Range 2 or 3 smiting will still be capped at 7 frame until level 29, however.

my level 28 smiter gets about 34x smite using the unique cutlass...i do ok.

well, its not like everyone is gonna carry 10 sol runed gear..
if u made them 29 people would pretty much half too...

but how would u like to have a 27 or 28 build with 350 dmg and try to defeat a character with about -70 or -75 DR gear on?

not to mention my 29 kicker puts on -54 DR with 47% weapons block

should DR be limited against certain builds much like Absorb and Raising Max resistance items?

I won't say too high, it's awkward actually, you can win all melee, but lose to all range char. Even at lower lvl like 28, still about same thing. But, there are some build which can win lvl 30 smiter: lvl 30 WW barb, lvl 27-30 charger, lvl 30 fury druid with range 5 2hands weapons and knockback, and, well another better smiter lvl 30.

Level 28 will be fine. The build should still work well enough to be viable in LLD but not be so effective to the point where it's overpowered.

U know str adds smite dmg correct?
i can get +3 con wep +1 combat skill shield and eye of etlich
it figures out to some where between 300-400
I will duel with it when my char is done
