Master plan against smiters

came up with idea like this
as char i will use barb since it can have really high ammount of life easily
then inv full of BO or BO/life or just 20 life sc's
Stats just enough str to wear items its probably somewhere around 100-120 not sure yet
dex nothing
life all rest
energy nothing

items:
helm +5 bo Delirium
armor Bramble Laughing (21 thorns aura)
Shield Spike Thorn (Attacker Takes Damage of 1-136 (Based On Character Level)
Rings 2 * Bull Kathos for life/Bo lvl boost
Amu +3 warcries 100 life
Boots Waterwalk to boost Life
Weapon maybe necro or with IM charges Shocked
then maybe some attacker takes xx dmg jewels on every part of eq
and master plan is ready and smiters are dead? Twisted Evil

/edit
ah and stradegy = stand still and watch pally killing himself

though im just dreaming it wont work anyway..

Well, two things.

Remember that any "Attacker takes damage of" is still reduced by 1/6 in PvP, and Thorns is also nerfed an additional 10% in PvP.

yes i know that, but still some smiters have actually died in combination thorns, spirit of barbs and smiter attacking my shadow (not with full health but not with 1 health either) and this isnt too serious build Wink

hmm...well, if your on ladder, u cna get an edge runeword, which has an additional thorns aura on it. i believe it will stack with a bramble

The reason being that Damage Returned does alot more damage when an enemy strikes a minion. Have you ever noticed how you can WW through a necro with Iron Maiden on and not take that much damage? However when you go to Act 4 and WW through an an enemy in the Chaos Sanc with IM on you, you die pretty damn fast.

Summoning necros have used IM against melee for quite some time now since when the melee attacker hits the minions, they take a ton of damage.

I'm sure someone like Jerkazoid will be able to clarify and give some numbers to back this up, but trust me when I say damage returned from minions is a ton more than damage returned from a player. This is why people will kill themselves on your Shadow but not on you. If you try this against a smiter, especially the new Grief smiters, you will die long before they take any noticeable damage.
