18 Defiance Zealot viable?

the only gear changes would be an eth/rep ancient and a 1pcomb/20ias/2os scepter with inherent +3 zeal

skills hell rushed: 18 sacrifice, 11 defiance

would require a bit more dex for block and more stats for str, but more defense would make up for less life because of less hits on him (i think). because of lower damage, would also use 6/xx/life gcs on top and 15 lifers on bottom.

could this work, and has it been done before?

of course it's been done before, everything has been done before, haha. Umm R-Freedom has a nice defiance zealot on east NL. I'm not even sure if he plays D2 that much anymore tho.

I just made one, still improving. I think it's better than the twitch build for zeal duel.

perfectly viable.

also R-Freedom is a trusted person with like 12k posts and a ton of FG on d2jsp. i think hes still somewhat active... dunno if he still llds tho.

yeah it's been done all over at level 15. and no, the person would either use a +zeal / +defiance 5 socket war scepter or azurewrath on NL. r-freedom made a nasty one last year as well on east ladder.

fyi - you only have 10 slots on the bottom if you use all GC's.

the 20 ias scepter would allow you to still hit 5 frame zeal though

I'd rather have 6 frame zeal with significant damage/defense/deadly strike than 5 frame zeal that doesn't do much of anything.

well if i get 2 sockets on a crafted ds helm (possible?) itll have a total of 10 sockets for 15 maxers (some with -req on armor) compared to the usual 9 on a clegs zealot, still with a little ds.

unfortunately 2os cant spawn on ds helms @ lvl18

tis what i feared. same amount of sockets as a clegs build then, but less ds and more defense. seems like a fine trade to me.

With an 09 azure, you have the same amount of DS as a Cleg's build.

It could be interpretted as 15 charms adding life instead of charms adding 15 life.
