Repairing cracked items

Can I repair a cracked item back to normal?

What happens to a cracked item if I Socket it?

Edit: If I add 4 sox, can I then repair it? As if it is ilvl1, it won't get 4 (Crown Shield).

Ask yourself this, why would you want to use a cracked item instead of a regular one? Yes, you can repair cracked items if they are not ethereal. Cracked items just are regular items with lower durability, lower defense, and lower damage. You can confirm this at http://battle.net/diablo2exp/items/basics.shtml. Mr. Green

He probably found a really good cracked item.

It'll have lower stats, but the slight loss of stats on anything but a weapon might be worth it.

Because I found a 62% ED Paladin shield, just the fucker was cracked.
If I socket it, then repair it, will it work?

I have a question about you socketing that crown shield with chipped emeralds and el runes. What kind of shield is that? Chipped emeralds adds 12% poison resist and el runes add 15 defense, 1 to light radius. By "ED", you mean enhanced damage right?

I mean I tried to repair the item using the 'repair item' recipe.
Unfortunately, it rerolled the stats and killed the sockets.

Whoopee..

Fucksake, a 64% Aerin sold for 5 FG on JSP.

Sorry, I wasn't thinking about the formula, 1 El Rune + 1 Chipped Gem + Low Quality Armor = Normal Quality Armor of same type.
