OK every time i go to the beach i HAVE to spend half the time there skimboarding up and down the beach. I can stay on the board and not fall down, and i can do a couple moves (shuvit, also jump do 180 with board) but i'm not going to break into the pros anytime soon. anybody else a skimboarder? do you go into the water off waves or up and down the beach? its a really small sport thats had the same popularity for a LONG time- some people might not even know what it is.

i just broke my board this season and i've had to use a 30$ wooden garbage board. anybody in new england area know of any skimboard dealerships with fiberglass boards?

TELL ME YOUR STORIES!!! (and answer my question if possible.)

I used to live at the beach in north carolina, and skim boarding was a huge thing there due to the severe lack of decent waves.

There are some good spots for boogie boarding, though.

Other then that I have absolutely nothing to add, because I know nothing about skimboarding. Sorry Sad

i do it when i can, but not really that into it. when i first got my skimboard, i was all over the beach and was coming home with some mean scrapes cause the thing is so fast. sometimes i would go too late and the water would all reside and the board the stick to the sand and i would go flying. other times i would go too early and barely move anywhere.
also do a bit of skimboarding with a boogie board lying down across the beach or standing up into the waves.

. Knifer, i was the exact same way when i started. Now, i fall down and go rolling across the beach as old woman are like PMFG r u ok!! and it doesn't hurt a bit when i fall. NC you say? hm. my friend lives up in NC, ill ask him how skimboarding is. Boogie boarding is fun too. i remember when i was around 8 years old i took a 15 foot wave and smashed my face on the sand underwater. had a scratch above my eyebrow for WEEKS. TOPIC BRODDENED! INCLUDE BOOGIE STORIES!

i once was on a wave and the board went straight down into the sand and the end hit me in the stomach and knocked the wind out of me. another time i went straight into another guy and knocked him up a bit. Rolling Eyes
