I've been thinking of building a Smiter, prefferable a lvl 22 one. Since being in classic im limited to my asernal of items. This build is meant for LLDin with the capabillity(sp) of beating the "high lvled" characters the sore losers bring.

I've read the guide and my eqiupment will be similar to it.

With primary gear Ill have 70DTM, 58CB, 50OW Would that be enough or do I need more of other things? DS?

Still debating on which skill to use? with the combo of iceblink and general my opponent would be really slow and blue. should I go for a defiance build? Also I want to be able to beat/be par with slowadins.. (general/HFreeze)

Go for level 27, and since you on classic 29 might still be 'lldish' enough as there are no shaels and the main thing your gaining are SoJs. So, if you lack sojs then 27, if you have them 29 seems good. No one in classic will care if your 22 or 29, once your past 19 your fair game for anything under 30.

- Tarnhelm for damage or 3pruby mask/crown for life

- +1paladin amulet with life/resists/etc

- Generals flail is decent till you shop a +1 30ias +conc warscepter (or similar) +1 and ias are main things for sure

- Twitchthroe armor

- +1 barbed shield resists/-reqs (block mods aren't necessary as you'll be fine with your holyshield level)

- 2xSoJs are ideal: if you cant afford them then look for resist rings with life and or +rep or use manald heal rings if you can't get anything better

- Deaths gloves or Bloodfists

- Deaths sash

- Gtoe (if you feel you want CB); have frw/fhr boots with resists as well tho

Stats:
- STR: Enough for barbed shield (65 str); -req shield would be nice
- DEX: Nothing, nada, base. This is classic, not xpac.
- VITA: Everthing
- NRG: Nutn

Skills: [at lvl 27] (norm rush = 30; hell rush = 3

- Max Hshield (4)
- Max Smite (20 or 19)
- Get concentration from warscepter, but if you cant seem to find one, take 1 point from smite and get 1 in conc (1)
- Prereqs (6)

1) Smite doesn't need attack rating to hit
2) Deadly strike won't work with smite
3) Open wounds does pathetic damage at your level
4) Pick hfreeze or conc for aura. I made my 29 smiter with a +1 30ias +3conc warscepter so i used generals + hfreeze vs certain people and my warscepter with conc aura for others. If you plan to fight lvl 30+ whirlwind barbs then dont use hfreeze or gens.
5) I never used CB and never had damage problems vs even level 70 necro/sorcs; you wont beat decent ww-barbs so I didn't need CB. Also, the frw from boots seemed to let me keep closer easier while smiting.

Edit: 60ias is needed with flail/war scepter for 7frame smite. So:
Twitchthroe[20] + Gens flail[20] + Deaths[30]
Twitchthroe[20] + 'Swiftness' Warscepter[30] + Bfists or Deaths both work

im just going to sum up my opininon: slow + Hfreeze + CB = bm ownage... in most cases, with slow and Hfreeze, people can not recover fast enough to survive no matter how much DR and Life they have, this is from what i've heard though, never saw it first hand.

Ya. 50%slow + hfreeze does great vs some casters and cs-zons, but most of them won't end up dueln you because of it. Id recomend usn that setup tho and just go with +conc goodmannered warscepter as a secondary weapon. Slow + hfreeze will get you raped by ww-barbs tho.

On classic duped sojs have no lvl requirement. Well they used to, are they still that way?

Duped Sojs have no level req, thats correct. But when you mf sojs they still have a level req of level 29. SoJs have been going up in price constantly it seems in classic so mfing for them might end up being his best option (not sure if it is the same in east realms).

Glad I vowed never to trade my sojs, only used like 2or3 for socketing some rares. Still have about 16 left, little more than half being no-level-req-dupes.

your lvl 22 build seems to have little/no flaws. but why the iceblink? what does it do that is good? haha...i know most of the normal uniques but this one is evading me...hawkmail i could see for the cbf...jeez im a nub.

hawkmail gives cbf/max cold resist/green

iceblink gives +freeze target. (btw, your target wont freeze in pvp but rather it will just act like cold damage and slow them down/turn them blue). iceblink doesn't add anything if you already have some form of cold damage - useless yup.

but...cold damage wont work with smite correct? so would the 'attack freezes target' work with smite? its actually a good idea for smiters built for pub killing...since none of them ever seem to have cbf

think he's going for an hfreeze smiter so the cold dmg from iceblink (which i do not beleive activates with smite anywho) wouldn't add anything to his build imo...

cbf is common for melee lld's in classic as hawkmail and deaths sash are heavily abused, although people still seem to think that you must be hacking if hfreeze freezes them ~.~ knowledge is limited in classic.

I was thinking of iceblink if I wasnt going to use HolyFreeze. Since having a HolyFreeze/General combo will automaticly get you the "im bringing my XX lvl and pwn j00!"

I was going to use the angelic set for the life, unless I can find rare rings/ammy that gives close to the same life..
