Ok, these Q's are basic, and i have no idea if thios thing would work? Just thought it would be funny lol.
Ok first question: Does Throsn work for dueling? Liek if i had thorns on, would it hurt them when they did dmg?
if that question is answered yes then... 2nd Question: If i used conversion on say a fallen in aA1 Blood moor and converted it, would it try and fight the people i was hostiled against?
I Would think both of these answers are no, but you never know lol. Would be fun seeing a guy die to smacking a fallen in a1 normal
Be Fun to max thorns/conversion and have fun in pubby duels lol

lol i think it still works it worked in 0.7 when i just maxed thorns and a uhh complete white set barb came and tapped me killing both of us. this was open bnet by the way.. lvl 247 barb using jamella with 8mill life smacked me and killed himself. good memories.

It won't work because Thorns and Iron Maiden suffer a MASSIVE PvP penalty, so it's negated pretty badly. Also, I don't think converts fight vs other people.

No Nos, it's not defence, it's just a REALLY BIG Penalty that totally makes these skills in PvP Useless unless its like a necro and pally teamed, necro makes iron golem from a razortail, necro casts IM, pally uses thorns...but that's just waste of time and a razortail

oh really. i thought it suked now because since dfense got boosted that it would take away from their dmg to u and your thorns wouldnt do dmg at all.. but i see what your sayin..

well maybe the thorns wouldn't suffer such a huge penalty if the guy was hitting a monster instead of a player. The only things I would think about are, you will most likely kill every monster in act 1 normal in 1 hit, so it will b hard to convert them, and it will also be hard to get enough monsters to town gate to kill someone, you might need 5+, and you know as soon as somebody sees a monster, whether they are hostile on you or not, they will kill it. I think that this build, even if the thorns works well, will annoy you and won't work that well.

i have bramble (lvl 15 thorns ) on my mercenary, and as soon as anyone melee dmges us, they kill themselves, so it mustnt be that huge of a penalty.

Actually, it`s only a PvP penalty if you hit the PLAYER, not some random thing next to it. My friend still dies to IM in those annoying CS runs.
But people will eventually catch on, and aim for the player. At least I think that`s how it works. I think the same PvP penalty applies with summons and walls or prisons.

well,thorns might not work,but IM has a little nasty bug that i use very often in high lvl duelling,wich is casting IM on a barb and make bone walls while hes WWing. it may not work sometimes,cus its bugged,but if u manage to cast 2-3 bonewalls while baba is wwing,when he stops the atack he dies . sometimes it even appears "XXX was slain by an evil force"

i know that thorns spirit that druids have works for pvp
but once again you have to get them to hit the spirit, not you
it might also work if they hit hirelings, im not sure

Summoning necro + IM = death to melee. Try putting IM on a WW barb and then stack some minions via tele. See what happens.

very true.
when thorns or IM is cast from one player to another there IS a penalty,, so the amount listed like "500% returend" dmg is actually 50%
But minions and summons dont count as players.. so there is no pvp dmg penalty
however u cant get dmg back that u didnt cause.. so its still based on the life of the minion im fairly sure.. the fallens wouldnt really work
