It appears on cc-comp two of the main moderators have been hacked, and most likely it was due to bruteforcing.

Just saying that people that are well-known on D2, should put symbols in their passwords so brute forcing won't work (well I guess it would but it'd takes days). Food-Ranger got hacked not too long ago I believe, if he didn't download anything then most likely it was bruted.

Just a warning to all.

One mod got his items back, because he was able to find out his ISP and where he lived and threatened to give it to the police in his city, because internet crime is a hot item now. Hopefully he will get back all his items, and then turn him in Twisted Evil

It's just like hacking, same as hacking into a business and deleting files. It's easy to explain what he did... and cc-comp stated they've contacted the police on other people, because it is illegal.

Read through the post, mentions them contacting the police.
Also says since there is a screenshot of him on the account saying racist remarks, they told the police and mentioned hate crime.

tho i wonder if its true of what the one guy sed about putting numbers in your pass makes it almost un hackeble?

Putting numbers in your pass makes it much harder, but not unbreakable. Without numbers in your pass I've heard it only takes a few hours, with numbers I think it can last a day or two. With symbols it can last a LONG time, especially the alt symbols. From what I've heard, they can brute you no matter what, just depends on how long they leave the brute running and how much patience they have.
