Fissure Druids are nice at levels 29-30 but tend to be beaten by the majority of other casters due to cast delay, lower damage, and inability to effectively compete vs necs/hammerdins/sorcs ect.

At levels 15-20 however they shine quite well, my guide is for a level 18 one.

The most important aspects to this build are damage, life, and regen. Max block is another critical aspect if you are facing melee characters. This build is not meant for quick and easy killing, as the damage is rather low. It is a build requiring patience and tactics.

Gear:

Helms:
+3 Fissure 3 socket Druid pelt. Other auto-mods you would like would be Oak Sage, Firestorm, or Molten Boulder.
+1 Elemental Skills/10% FHR/+3 Fissure/2 Socket magical Druid pelt.
This would be your ideal dream helm. socket these with either P Rubies (+38 Life), or P Skulls (+5 Replenish life/19% Mana regen). Its a choice between life or regen.

I find regen to be much more beneficial.

Amulet
Angelic Wings, Set Amulet
This helps to give you the set bonus given by 2 Angelic pieces (+75 life/10 Dex)
+1 Elemental Skills/25-40 Life/8-10 Replenish Life Amulet
Another dream item, this amulet could also spawn with resists, mana, or stats.

Armor:
Stealth Light Plate (Or any Light armor)
25% FRW/FHR/15% Mana Regen are nice bonuses and are all very beneficial. You also get +6 Dex and 30% Psn Resist
3 P Skull Light Plate/4 P Skull Gothic Plate
Have one of these depending on your STR in the stash when Regen is necessary

Weapon:
+1 Elemental skills/2 Socket club.
socket this with the 2 best stat jewels you can find for level 18. The optimal jewel would be 6 dex/4 str/8 life/15 mana.
Mine has 4 str/5 dex/5 energy and 4 str/4 life/4 energy jewels. The STR allows me to use Sigon's Shield.

Switch: +1 Summoning skills/2 Socket club.
socket with 2x+4 str jewels

Shield:
Sigon's Shield
+1 Skills, socket with a -15% Req jewel. Mine has a -15% Req/10 resist all jewel in it
Deflecting mod/2 socket shield.
You can shop these easy from hell anya/drognan. The ideal magical one is a Vulpine Bone/Spiked Shield of deflecting (7%-12% Damage To Mana [DTM], 30% Faster Block, 20% Increased Block). These have a 50% chance of getting 2 sockets from larzuk
Rare shields of this type have the chance to spawn with FHR/Life/Resists/DTM/2 Sockets/Deflecting Mods. these are your optimal shields against Melee and when you need to have 75% Resist all.

here is the shield i use:

socket this with P Diamonds for Resist.

Switch: Sigons Tower Shield, socketed with -15% req jewel.

Gloves
Bloodfists. 30% FHR/40 Life

Rings
Angelic Ring
+8 Replenish Manald
These will give you +14 Replenish life, 20% Mana regen, and the Angelic helps to give you the set bonus mentioned above

Belt
24%FHR/30-40 Life is your standard aim. Additional mods would be 3-5 str/3-5 replenish life/mana/resists.

belt i use:


Boots:
Viper Track
30% FRW/20% FHR/21 Life/7% Lit Resist/24% Fire Resist
Kind of scarce duped classic boots if you don't mind using dupes. FHR/Life is a great bonus
Cow Kings Hooves, Set Boots
+20 Dex/30% FRW helps alot

Charms:
Smalls - 15 Life, with 5-7 Mana/Resists as the desired 2nd mod. fill invent with these.
Larges - 5% FRW with 15-18 Mana, 4x of these
or....
Grands - 7% FRW, with 26-33 Mana as the desired 2nd mod. use 3x of these.

I pretty much think that having ~85-90% FRW is enough for this build (20 from charms/25 from stealth/30 from Boots). As for FHR i find 48% enough, but getting 86% is not that hard (30 from gloves/24 from belt/17 from shield/25 from stealth)

Skills/Stats
Hell rushed will have 29 Skills.

18 into Firestorm
1 into Molten Boulder
7 into Fissure
3 into Oak Sage

Str - Enough to wear sigs on switch w/ +8 str on the club (so 56)
Dex - I have base because of Cow Kings/Angelic dex boost.
Vit - Rest
Ene - Zero

Dueling
You will have to play defensively, as Fissure will only be doing near 400 dmg at this level. have molten bolder/firestorm as your left click spell. Be sure to cast Oak sage on switch for +2 more into (10% more life).

When facing melee/chargers/hammerdins (anything needing to be close to you to hit), try to draw them into you by sitting in the fissure, and having them chase you into their demise.

Long range casters you will have to try to play a little more offensively, as fissure has limited range, especially vs Necros/Throw barbs. Be sure to have oak resummoned whenever it dies on switch.

If your opponent is stuck in hit animation while running through fissure try to land a couple firestorms in and duck out.

Once again, this build is virtually 90% defensive, and is not your cookie cutter build. its still a fun alternative to hacking melee and other stereotyped 18 casters.

btw you wont kill a hammersin with this build so just negate his damage with duskdeep and melee each other.

elemental druid's attack isnt ias% dependable = cbf is NOT must like its in other builds mostly and ofc u can always have 1 death sahs in stash if u dont like being frozen(my point was u: u dont need cbf on casters(at least as much as melees)cos frozen dosnt slow their casting speed or does it? correct me if im wrong)

why can't you switch out the +1 ele skills club for an angelics sword and switch out the armor for something better?

i was planning on using something like a 4 o/s gothic with p rubies or skulls. however, i figured that damage would be the most critical thing id need to maximize (life can come from charms, i have enough regen as it is).

i dunno. 250 def w/ 50% Fire resist is a better bonus than angelic sword offers. i used to use the 4 sock armor but liked angelic better.

What about using angelic sword and a nice stealth light armor? Vs some chars (especially bowazons and throw barbs) you will probably want to try to hit a higher fhr bp. I also think that 25% more r/w is pretty hard to give up Razz. Oh ya, doesn't fcr affect the speed that you can cast firestorm and fissure to some degree? If you are getting shot by a bowazon, it could be necessary to be able to cast faster (if the previous sentence is true).

i have 86% fhr so im fine. fcr does affect how fast i cast the spell, but delay (cooldown) renders it basically unecessary.

so the 25% rfw would be the only other good mod. meh could be a possibility yet i still lose damage. the mdr/dex/regen is nice howerver.

i just doubt any armor out there is worth sacrificing a godly jeweled club (something along the lines of 15 life/20 resist all/15-20 stats). i would use a 4 p skulled (20 replen/76%mana regen) gothic and angelic sword w/ dual stat/life/resist jewel if anything else. ill look into the stealth idea though.

i thought hell rushing wasnt legal...and anyway if you rin lld for the challenge wouldt a lvl 18 with normal skill q's be a bit more fun?

Hell-rushing is 'legal' on USEast realm.

As for the Stealth idea, it is a considerable sacrifice, but I definately think the extra FWR (and mana regeneration is also nice) would be useful in some cases. With your current setup you're slightly slower than most level 18 casters, so there's still a chance for the short-ranged ones to catch you and the long-ranged ones to evade you. Stealth would quickly limit the amount of opponents who would be capable of doing either.

i built a lvl 15 and it worked well. lots of dmg, and i used a - req sigons for my main sheild for a lil more dmg

also, my firestorm was doing double my fissure dmg so i casted fissure and then continuously did firestorm til they died

You shouldnt have to run any using a lvl18-20 fissure druid. If I have to chase someone, I dont. All i have to do is walk to evade most attacks. The area of attack is so large with fissure, your opponent will be the one that has to run to avoid it.

When dueling a melle char all you need to do is walk around leading them through your fissure. You will beat more melle chars walking then you will running. The toughest lvl 18 chars to beat are zealers and kickers. You should have atleast a 50% chance to beat either of them, if not more.

As for casters, I havent meet one in the 18-20 lvl range that can beat my lvl20 norm druid.

As with any build, you cant beat everyone.

So I wouldnt waste space with frw charms, I find the 30% cow kings adds good enough.

My druid is very close to this guide.

Helm: +3 fissure/+3 cyclone armor 3PSkull pelt
Ammy: Angelic
Weapon:+1 elementel club w/+7all res jewel
Armor: Angelics w/Pskull
Shield: Bone shield with fhr/deflecting mod/half freeze/res w/PDiamond
Gloves: Bloodfists
Ring: mana/res/half freeze/mdr
Belt: fhr/life/res/stamina
Ring: Angelics
Boots: Cowkings

All charms are life/res, life/def, life/mana and plain life sc's.
With 1 point in Oak Sage and +1skills from Angelic combo I have 1300+ life. Just under 1K life without oak.

Oak sage dies so easy that its not worth spending the extra stat points in str just to have sigons on switch.


str: 36 just enough for angelic armor
dex: just enough for max block
life: everything else
eng: dont waste points here


Nothing fancy. Cheap fun build. The only thing that might take a little time to get is the pelt and maybe the club.

good idea but, here is wat i did with mine

+10%fcr wand wit +life mana mods
+1skills ammy
+10%fcr wit life mana mods ~~RINGS~~
stealth ~~Body arm~~
+3fissure socks ~~Helm~~
sig shield ~~Shield~~
a few fcr charms ~~SC~~
rest hp ~~small charms~~
for weap switch i used a +1elem club wit life mana mods
wit a shield wit 20%fhr and a bunch of other nice mdos
for gboots i mfed a 30%frw wit life mana mods.
and finally his glvoes was bloodfist rsn mana mod and fhr n stuff

60str wit enough charms 2 get +15str
loads of dex charms ~~Block~~
60 str no points into dex non energy and rest into vit
skills are 11fire storm 1moulten boulder and rest into fissure **Norm rushed**
and he does ok yet i need 2 remake him because i put 2much str.

how much dmg do you lose with 1 pt? 20 rep life armor or stealth armor is a great bonus

da-mastaaa fissure and fire storm are skills that has a cood down time and therefore fcr doesnt really increase your casting speed by that much
