best defence armor for lvl29/30? |

I have been kinda working on a def conc barb or def zealer (similar armor/charms) for lvl29 or 30 depending on what most on new ladder are (last ladder most of what I found were 30's).
I finally shopped what I think is a good armor for this, but should I keep looking (is there better)? I have a saintly ornate of simplicity (78ed -30m 802 defense).
1)Can you get higher defense on a duel mod magic armor?
2) If I go with a barb he will probably have 155str (ik belt/gloves), so the -req isn't adding much. What other mod should I look for instead?

you can get 100% enhanced defence at level 27, you can get +60 life if you go to 29, or +80 life if you go to 30, as a 2nd mod, or you can get 24% fhr, those would basically be the best 2nd mods for you if you don;t want the -reqs. also if you can find an eth/repair one you could reach 1352 defenceo n the armor

thanks alot, I will keep shoping then for one with fhr or life and higher defense (and -req jewel it down to something my barb can use), maybe keep that one incase I ever try a zealot.
Really doubt i'd find an eth repair one, but now you will have me checking every magic/rare ornate I find

A Cheeper way to get some nice high defence armour is to eth glitch eth oranates, pray they get 3 sockets, than make "myth" and use it on your conc barb.
You should end up with around 1k defence, 2 barb skills and -15 required (along with some other shitty mods).

You guys allow eth non-repairables? I always thought that was considdered bm...

no its just that you cant repair it but myth is a cheap runeword making it easy to make if it does break, you could use a normal eth myths when the ed bugged one is not needed

30 Isn't needed. The only advantages to 30 are: Squid mod(on the armor), and Fantacism(only for the speed, the damage will be too low for a zealot to make any good use of it for damage), and a few items like: Upgraded Bloodfist.
I'd look for an Eth Magic Ornate Plate, and keep cubing it with pgems until you get Holy Ornate of XXX(your second mod of choice)
Of course, if you're really looking to devote time and resources, and have the patience, 6-Skull cube an eth rare ornate plate to try and get as many of the following: Holy, Faithful(defense BOCL), Mechanic's, Of The Colossus, Of Simplicity, Of Balance, of Self-Repair
Ideally you get all three prefixes, and 3 suffixes of choice(Out of all of them, of Balance is the least necessary), and roll an UBER eth ornate.

I'm fairly sure that once you 6 skull a rare eth item it loses it's etherealness. so imbueing your eth ornates might be a better option, and if you do eth glitch an ancient armour but dont get 3 sockets, they still have decent def and you could just put 15 max jewels or hel runes in them as cheap alternatives till you get something better.
