 tactics for a smiter? |

is there any special tactics or strategies for a smiter to use against casters or even in general? i mean like hammerdins use dysench as a tool and otehr classes have different things they can do...do smiters have anything?

Holy freeze against non-tele characters, get 90-95 resists, use a high damage weapon to lock them in charge.
You'll probably still lose though, I beat a level 30 smiter who stacked 300% resist and 95% max resist against me while using my blizz sorc, there's just not much you can do against good ranged as a characters.

I thought skills like thorns and iron maiden did not apply to pvp (unless you have minions, they are considered monsters not players)

If we are assuming pubby duels then switch to a high dmg polearm (eth bsnap etc) and charge lock or until you miss and switch to smite. Your problem lies in two parts with this strategy; first, if your a true smiter then you have crap for AR. Second you wont have much mana and charge goes thru mana faster then a military Hummer goes thru oil. You can counter this with an insight polearm if your on ladder. The ar part you can counter by getting your opponent to run, not walk.
What you wouldnt give for some ravens and a snowclash eh?
