i realize this is an old topic, but ive read the entire thing and i cant seem to find the answer to this question:

what effect does the number of people in the game have on the drops?
cause ive been mfing nm with only me, and its not proving too successful

the more people there are in the game, the more items drop. the more items that drop, the greater chance there is that one of them will be the one you're looking for.

technically what david said, is a myth, in a round about way. the way it works is, the more people, the more monsters. the more monsters, the more chances at drops. just like a cows game. only 1-2 people,. very few cows. full cow game, loads everywhere.

you arent gaurunteed more drops, you;re just given a bigger chance at them.

well, a greater chance at dropping more items yields more items on the whole.

hmm but i dont exactly understand how having more ppl will make more enemies, because enemies dont just randomly appear, they are spawned in an area. or am i wrong on this too? or is it set so that the enemies spawn in a new area that u havent been to based on how many people are in the game when u enter the new area?

i always thought it was the more people the more items the monsters drop becuase if u have a chest on 1 players it rarely drops much but on 8 players it explodes and same for packs of monsters.

meh... found my answer Smile sorry bout this not used to this forum just yet (too many bright things Shocked ) but eventually i managed to find... that there are more then the first page of this thread, and hence found the answer i was after Embarassed

by the way im using holy shock pala for clearing norm a2 tombs, works fast enough (1-2 pulses kill the majority of things), give it a go Smile

I'm assuming that the way it is setup is that whenever you enter an area, it spawns mobs. Now, if there is only one person in the game, it may only spawn one, but, if there are eight people in the game, it will spawn more then one. The reason for this, is that one mob even at eight times health and such provides no challange for a group of eight. So, in an effort to keep the game interesting Blizzard set it up so that the game notice the more people and creates more monsters for them to fight.

Of course I could be dead wrong, that happens on occasion too.

Another good place I have found to find sock'd items and charms are the tombs. I usually get at least 1 usable charm per 5 tomb runs. I don't know the math or anything I just know i find a lot of 12-15 lifers (large and small) usually plain. Not godly, but great starter charms for noobs like me!!!

A way to solve this problem for ppl that don't want to remake a new mf'er just for this... make tomb games and help noobs lvl. Games get PACKED full u tele around and kill sh**...they get xp...u get charms and jewels.....EVERYONE WINS!!! Very Happy

except you have to be very on the ball concerning what drops where because if your not watching like a hawk people can be in front of you and snake your charms while you cast from a different location, thats my number one grief with doing public runs, i have no problems with letting people leach xp, but when they start to jack the drops i get bugged >.<

also, i hope im not asking too much of you voodoo, where are the better areas to find a sup gothic shield and or a sup ancient armor? iv been cowing for several days and havnt found squat in the way of useful superiors(mil pick, war ax, cutlass, scepter of some sort, armor, shields, crown)
