hey, im still deciding but im tired of old builds and have endlessly looked through the skill trees countless times to find out... heres my build

max sword mastery for lvl
max shout (high defense)
x # into bash hgavent deicded, but it doesnt increase by much eac lvl... so heres the question...

its going to be a high defense bash barb!! lvl 9... with an ornate plate wiht -req/dmg jewls hopeuflly... and 9max/ar jewel helm and either a pelta or a vulpine bs of defelcting.. now HIGH defense will stop them from hitting me as much and i want to attack fairly fast and hit a decent fhr bp and have decent life, also what ewpaon should i use and does anyone know exact placement of skills i should use?... um ar/str/dex rings and ammy... high defense means they wont hit me as much right?... hopefully thats true and i can last long enoug to chip them away.. does anyone think if made right this has a chance of taking down some cookie cutter sacadins?

further reseach will be done... but im at school right now.. and im hell rushing new chars tonight... about 4 chars tongiht.. so iwas wondering which new i shoudl make... me and a friend are temaing up(hes RICH in high lvl stuff adn were maing a joint acct only lld... mostly VLLD so if anyone needs any ghih lvl stuff for lld please pm me but now furthrer research will be done but im at schoool so please respond with comments and some gear... i check thed sticky ad there is no bash barb build.. and ive never even seen anybody ever make one but maybe back in .09... butyeah whatcha think, MADE RIGHT WILL IT BEAT A SACADIN MAYBE?

just letting you know, ornate plates are level 25 req. ancient armor is the highest defense armor you can get at level 9

i mean ancient armor... my bad... and i searched BASH BARBs but i couldnt find an actual build

I'd go with axe rather than sword.

You'll hit 11fpa with a mil. pick and 30%ias on your gear vs 12fpa for the crystal sword. Not a huge difference, but every edge helps.

Crystal sword is not the sword to use if you go Sword Bash Barb. You use Flamberge. It has one less socket than the pick but it matches it in speed. The PROBLEM with it is that it requires 70 str and high dex to use so you almost have to use at least one Max/-15 Req jewel in the sword. It does have a higher base damage (if you get 15ED) than a flail or a pick. I have used this set-up before back in 1.09 and it worked fairly well but 1.10 fixed the CS bug so it hampered Barbs a bit. My sword did not have any -15 req jewels in it so it required 70 str to use. I offset that by using sigons Boots and Gloves. That 30 IAS, FRW and 10 str helped a lot. I also maxed Bash to compensate for the lack of AR jewels. If I was to do him over, I would still go with the Flamberge with one -15/Max and all the rest ED/Max/AR. I would wear Ancient with 3 x -15/MAX. I would get a +3 Sword/ +2-3 Shout (or Bash) helm with at least two sockets where I would put Max/AR/DTM jewels. I would use my Vulpine Tower Shield of Deflection w/ 2 sockets and 2 -15/Max jewels. For rings and Ammys you want high AR and +2 str per ring at least and ammy with +5 str and DTM. Then Max sword mastery and pump shout to the desired level and put 1 or 2 in Bash. Be forewarned, Bash Barbs are mana pigs. My axe Bash Barb has 64 mana and 42 DTM. You will have to use very good jewels to get high damage and it is a challenge to get the AR above 1200. I just tweaked my Axe Bash Barb and fnally got his Damage to 160-466 and his AR to 1366. His def is 745 with only 2 in shout. Maybe I will rush one and try maxing shout instead of Bash to see how they compare. Take these suggestions for what they are worth and if you use any of them I hope they help. Good luck on your build.

my barb had a 15%ED ancient plate, a +3 shout helm for prebuffing and 4 into base shout. he had 898 defence after shouting. 788 or so if i didnt use the prebuff.
