Base weapons for honor rw Subject description: Naga - Knout or Zweihander |
|
I know the 'base' normal weapon for Honor is naga, but doesnt the extra attack (4.1 fpa) from knout do more damage overall than Naga's 3.1 fpa?
Talking about whirlwind ofc. Also while Zweihanders have high dex reqs... they do almost as much dmg as naga's with one xtra attack - so wouldnt this be the ultimate honor weapon?
Also all BvB guides seem to suggest using Up'd Swordback for shield, is this rly nescessary? I mean wouldnt Artisan's xxx shield of Deflecting with maxers (20 ED jewels in my case - ladder) be far more damagin?

you could go honor Zwei with a robo one in stash. they have great range which helps ww a lot.
upd swordback isnt hard to get...its like 2 low runes and a p gem to up one. WW vs WW duels open wounds helps a lot.
if you wanted to spend the time/money to shop an AToD more power 2 u. you would have 2 more sockets to put maxers in. IMO AToD is a better choice...but its the much more expensive option.

as far as honors go, if you're JUST using honors, then knout or zwei is the way to go depending on your other gear. but if you're using a robo naga, which hits the last ias bp, then of course you'll want to use an honor naga with it

Yes I'm going dual honor, cant ford a robo just yet. It's going to be a BvA so I guess I'm going 2x Zwei then, gona have to check how much str I'd be losing tho vs. knouts so they might end up being better even with lower damage.

consider range. on a BvA high range will help you hit things. especially smiters and teleing sorcs. so even if you will need to spend a few extra stats to gain 2-3 more range, i would say its worth it.

Since you are ladder I suggest going with the zweihanders
That way you can have honor + peace + spirit to royally screw everyone with near constant crits

Cool idea but it would only add like 10% or less crit since honor already has DS... also would lose some nice dmg on the off hand sword (life & mana are nice tho).
Also I have 2x SoJs but for BvC I plan to use 2x Manald's since I get pretty massive life rep anyway (48.rep). It's mainly for pubbing in nm and normal so potting is go go

crit strike is calculated before deadly, so it'll actually be the other way around. and the deadly strike only applies to the honor, not the 2nd weapon. try an honor zwei and a shaeled bletter, you might be surprised

tbh I havent thought of that combo before and I think it rocks, it would spare me the points into ww and enable frenzy for some desynch (is this rly useful?). In anycase I imagine one point into leap would be worthwhile investment?
Although if I dont put points into ww, that would mean I'd have to use Bloodletter + Shield in BvB mode (dont have +ww helmet)
Here's the setup I'm thinking.
BvC:
Peasant Crown (16 maxer or 20 ED, 30 LR, 5 life jewel)
45 max of Squid (80) or Peace MP
IK Gloves + IK belt
2x Manald
1 baba +80 life ammy
Sander's
Honor Zwei + Bloodletter OR Honor Zwei + Honor Zwei (this setup doesnt get me frenzy)
BvB switch gear:
Artisan's Gothic Shield of Deflecting (3x 20 ED) - Up'd Swordback probably better if I go the bloodletter route
Goblin Toes
Angelics trio
Eth Bugged Peace Ornate Plate
Now I just need to know if frenzy is rly worth the fact I'd be going range 1 with shield ><

i wouldnt worry about frenzy really. in order to use frenzy on someone, you have to hit them first. so if you're too slow to catch them to ww them, you'll probably be too slow to catch them to frenzy them. if you DO manage to catch up to them, you're gonna want to ww them, not frenzy

I dont see why people use one fast weapon and then an honor. Why not use 2 fast weps for even more damage?
Attacks with nagas:
0ias - 0ias = 4fpa
40ias - 0ias = 3fpa
40ias - 40ias = 2fpa

because 3 > 4 but the loss of ds isnt worth the extra attack, nor is the loss of 10% ed, 1 all skill, 10 rep life, etc... to get to 2 frame

The difference between 2 frame and 3 frame is FIFTY PERCENT TOTAL DAMAGE. You lose over 4 attacks per second. The other mods on honor arent worth it or you would use 2 honors.

bah your right. i was thinking b/c zwiehs are bigger, they had a greater range
Naga will give you higher max dmg and avg dmg, and Zwiehs can only get 5os which means no going robo.
i change my vote to naga.
