OK i am building one mainly for ubers, so wuold it be better to stack as much res as possible or use a conviction aura to overwrite mephy?

Stack resistances is better. My friend uses that one arua (the name escapes me) sometimes i think. I havn't done ubers in a while though, i could be wrong.

i made a uber pally for about 2 hrs. life tap wand on switch, and only dracs to keep tap on. used cheeaaap stuff, like um'd vmagi, iron grid, 3x pdiamond griz shield, tgods, a unique scepter (the one with crushing blow, 2 socs, etc) and just random junk like that. as long as you get the ubers seperated, they're easy 1 on 1

if you can have enough resists to stack against mephy's conv then no need. even if you still have positive resists, you'll be ok as long as you have tap.

stack light resist above all else. best uber setup i still believe is:

kira um'd
mara
last wish phase
CoH dusk
exile s. rondache 45 resist
laying of hands
dwarf star/raven frost
tgod
gore rider or tri-resist boot

max holy shield/smite/fanta/defiance/resist light aura

Almost any junk works for an uber smiter as long as you have resists and a source of lifeap.

Mine used to use: black flail, anchients pledge (cheap 85res), dracs, Kira, Highlords, Tgods, goblin toes/gores, duress, Drawf star, some gambled magic stat ring (20dex/all res or some junk).

All you need is CB, stacked res, 1x source of lifetap, enough IAS to hit a good smite BP (espcially important if you have to put on the resist aura).... although a few full-juvs are helpful until your lifetap procs.

raven
prolly either up'd gobs or res boots
then either dracs or 20 ias 10 cb gloves
then p torch and anni and some res scs should take care of your resistance

but when i used to uber with two zealers my setup was
botd zerk
um'd kiras
coh
highlords
tgods
1wisp(change out after meph dies)
then to 1 dwarf and 1 raven
gores
dracs
up'd um'd hoz
then ptorch anni and all that took care of my light resis against meph

currently using a 18-16 ntorch until i can get another pally.

just put 1 pnt into Salvation, the resistance aura. Run around the back of trist, and then go inbetween the 2 buildings slowly. Mephy should come out alone, then kill him with salvation on.

After he dies, switch back to fana and pwn baal and d.

LW + Dracs + exile give you more then enough tap. you would have to be very unlucky to die to mephy b4 u can tap him if your using salv.

My smiter uses

umd Shako (Res + Dr + Life + Skills)
COH (res + skills)
2x ravens (Dex for LW PB)
LW PB (more tap. keep a grief in stash for random monsters or dueling)
Dracs ( Tap + Str)
E exile Kurast ( has same average damage as vortex, but i had one lying around)
T gods ( decent all around belt. sorb helps a lot)
Maras ( skills + stats + res)

then i use spirit and cta on switch.

no anni or torch on him so that he can pick both of them up.
