lvl 49 rabies druid |
|
I'm not sure about the armor for the druid I want to make.. I was thinking of maybe using a crow caw, or a spirit forge... you usually don't see them around much, but I was looking around today and saw that they have quite a few stats that would benefit my build. Anyone else have some opinions?

Three main choices from what i see.
My 49 rabies uses shaftstop with 5/-5 for vs melee, or stealth vs casters [for the frw].
The third option would be a 4 facet life armor.

Shaft or 4 soc lifer/fhr (24 fhr is 60 life from gcs or 100 life from scs), either with a facet.
Crow caw wouldnt be bad (it does have frw right?) but if you want a frw armor the unique leather armor (cant call the name) has like 40, lol.

im on useast lad and yeah i have a 49 rabies druid very successful so far, only people if you'd like to see the gear that i use/skill set up i might have some things that would benefit you rather than what i did since i messed up a lil bit on the skill accolation
edit: id really rather not talk about him on here since i have not yet SEEN ANY lvl 49 rabies druids AT ALL so i don't wanna post on here since i like my uniq build and wanna keep it that way but one or two of them out there doesn't sound like a bad idea gimme some rabies competition

100 life, 20% psn dmg, -20% psn resistance is the best armor

at level 49, you can use a Duress Dusk Shroud. That'd be my choice. People will stack poison res and/or PLR but it won't stop the OW from Duress. You're going to hit and run with Rabies anyway, so OW plays very nicely with that strategy.
Crow Caw has real nice mods but it's heavy armor and will hurt your FRW rate badly. Too badly, IMO.
You could also use Rain @ lvl 49.. it's not bad for that level. +2 skills, huge mana, some lite res, MDR, and DTM. Probably not worth the cost though... it's the same basic cost as a Duress but not nearly as nice IMO.
Otherwise I agree with ubermoose. Shaftstop and String will probably be a necessity vs. melee anyways.

honestly ive been playing my rabies druid for quite a while now and have had no problem AT ALL with plr or stacked resis the only problem is with mass life and mass defense i.e. zealers/smiters/barbs so forget about mass dmg cuz if u can't hit them and tank more than a couple hits then there's no point most barbs as long as they are half way descent will take 2-3 hits from a full length rabies so u need to be able to tank those hits cuz i doubt your gonna hit them the first time anyway so althought ull be hitting a really high dmg with the 20-20 life armor u won't be able to tank their hits worth anything but as far as the casters i agree with everyone about the stealth

Have a harmony on switch for running when youve infected them. Laugh when sorcs and chargers cant keep up with you.

if you're going to be pure dmg then i suppose go with the 20-20 armor but if you want to be able to take a couple more hits cuz i guarantee you will have to then get a wep that gives some to ar so u have a lil bit higher chance to hit them and a shield that you can easily get max block with then on switch use either a 120-120 wep or a 5-5 plague bearer
learn to use your flash switch i.e. rabies does dmg to whatever dmg the screen tells you while the person is infected--meaning you can hit them with your max block and switch to your dmg and still get the same results as if you hit them with your dmg wep in the first place just a pointer to help you along your way but if you wanna make it for casters go with dmg and harmony

Yep - rabies re-applies continuously after infecting. Use 30/-30 weapon and 15/-15 shield on switch.

Not sure what 120-120 is, is that a typo?
It seems like a fun team dueler too since rabies can infect your teammates if you get close.

i dunno, my friend had what i consider the best 49 rabies druid ever created, and the best one ever possible, and most of the time he used a 20/20/100 armor

I would say 20/-20 also seems best, but against melee you DEFINATELY want a shaft.

yeah that was a typo :\ lol sry bout that 30-30 is what i meant, but to hit i use a oath sc or even if u wanted u can use a 6shaeld wep so u don't have to go get the extra str. and then just switch to a 30-30 wep or a 5-5'd plague bearer
